Chapter 134: I Am About to Suffocate
As soon as the two approached, the volunteers swarmed around them.
"Good afternoon, Miss Long."
"Miss Long, do you know what this is?"
"Wow, Goddess Xiaoyu is here too!"
The crowd chattered, offering their greetings. Liang Xiaoyu gestured toward her selfie stick and offered everyone a faint smile. Turning back to the audience in her livestream, she continued, "You all see that spaceship up there, right?"
"That’s right, it’s the alien spacecraft from *Alien*, and it’s filled with super adorable little Xenomorphs."
"In a moment, I’m going to head up there and explore the ship to give you all a look at the inside scoop."
"Haha, and of course, I’m not going alone this time; Long’er will be joining me."
"Moderator, mute the person trashing me for three minutes. They keep posting pictures of me hanging myself—can’t you see I’m perfectly alive?" she grumbled indignantly. "You guys, do you have any idea how much risk I’m taking to show you what’s going on in here?"
"Wait, why haven't they been muted yet?"
"Moderator, why are you muting *me*?" Liang Xiaoyu was on the verge of losing her temper and cursing.
The useless moderator, instead of muting the trolls, had muted her.
Moderator: [Xiaoyu, stop talking. Hurry up and go inside to start the broadcast.]
Beside her, Little Dragon Maiden nodded toward the volunteers and stood there quietly. She remained cold and distant in front of strangers.
"The person in charge here is Wolverine Logan," Liang Xiaoyu said, turning to the volunteers. "Long’er and I are going in. Are you all coming too?"
"Does it cost money?" one volunteer asked with a grin.
"Of course," Liang Xiaoyu replied. "Don't you all have monthly spending quotas?"
The Rabbit Country government provided all its domestic volunteers with a monthly spending allowance of 20 million. If they managed to obtain something like an X-Gene purchase opportunity and agreed to sign an employment contract with the government, that allowance could be increased indefinitely.
"Then never mind," the volunteers backed off one after another. They had to be very careful with how they spent their money, and wasting it here didn't seem wise.
"There are rewards here, though," Liang Xiaoyu said with a mysterious smile.
"What kind?" everyone asked eagerly.
Just as Liang Xiaoyu was about to say, "I’d like to know that myself," a light suddenly flickered on the spaceship above. A massive beam of light shot down from it, striking the ground.
"Logan just came out from inside," Little Dragon Maiden said calmly. "We can prepare to head in now."
As she spoke, the beam of light slowly dispersed, forming an elliptical cabin that remained connected to the ship above by a faint thread of light. The cabin door slid open, revealing the figure of Wolverine Logan.
"Everyone, welcome to the Alien ship," he said, opening his arms and smiling at the group.
"Logan, have you been inside?" Liang Xiaoyu asked.
"Those little cuties are quite interesting," Logan replied. He looked vibrant and energetic; clearly, he had enjoyed the previous skirmish.
*What a psycho,* Liang Xiaoyu thought to herself. As the person in charge, his abilities were not suppressed. Imagining him letting the Xenomorphs burst from his chest repeatedly made her shudder.
She quickly shifted her gaze to the QR code by the cabin door. She scanned it and paid. One million was deducted. At the same time, she saw the [Visitor Guidelines]. She read out the key points:
"The purpose of the Alien spaceship is to provide visitors with an exciting and novel combat experience. Inside, there is one Xenomorph Queen and one hundred mature Xenomorphs. Additionally, various firearms and weapons are scattered throughout..."
"The goal for visitors is to kill as many Xenomorphs as possible and survive for as long as possible."
"Based on the number of Xenomorphs killed and the duration of survival, each person will receive a comprehensive score upon leaving. The top three scorers each month will receive super rewards."
After seeing the rewards, Liang Xiaoyu’s breathing quickened.
"No way," she nearly shrieked. Previously, Little Dragon Maiden had mysteriously told her the rewards were special, and she had assumed it would be something like an Iron Man suit or a Xenomorph minion. But after reading the fine print next to the first reward, she almost swore out loud.
A spaceship... purchase opportunity? Not the ship itself?
*Whatever, it’s not like I’ll get first place anyway,* she consoled herself.
When she saw the rewards for second and third place, her mood improved significantly. After checking multiple times to ensure there were no "purchase qualification" labels, she let out a sigh of relief.
Seeing the shifting expressions on her face, the volunteers waiting behind her and the audience in the livestream became impatient, urging her to read them out loud.
Liang Xiaoyu took her time, pulling a bottle of soda from her bag and taking a slow sip.
[Goddess Xiaoyu, what exactly are the rewards?]
[Hurry up and let us see!]
[This Rain Thief is really acting high and mighty [Dog Head].]
[Moderator, hurry up and mute the person bad-mouthing the Goddess.]
[Has anyone noticed how pretty Xiaoyu looks today?]
[She's beautiful, has a great figure, and is classy. Xiaoyu is the real goddess!]
[Ah, Goddess Rain, my goddess, you’re killing me with the suspense.]
Watching the stream of sycophantic comments, Liang Xiaoyu held back, lifted her chin, and flashed a brilliant smile. She cleared her throat and said, "Actually, it’s nothing much."
"Third place in monthly points gets a random Level 2 mutant ability."
"Second place gets a Level 3 mutant ability."
She paused slightly, looking at the volunteers, all of whom were now clearly intrigued. The audience in the livestream was even more excited, like men who hadn't seen a woman in ten years—their enthusiasm practically overflowing from the screen.
"As for first place," Liang Xiaoyu paused again. Seeing the hungry look in the volunteers' eyes and fearing she might get hit, she quickly continued, "The reward for first place is a purchase opportunity for... an interstellar transport ship."
"Holy crap," one volunteer couldn't hold it together. "Goddess, is that real?"
"A purchase opportunity, not the ship itself," Liang Xiaoyu reminded them.
"That’s still incredible," the volunteer exclaimed. "Whoever gets this opportunity would surely be pampered by the government."
"Are we finally entering the interstellar age?" another volunteer asked. "I have to go in there!"
"Mr. Joe is truly a saint!"
The crowd was in a frenzy, discussing it excitedly. Liang Xiaoyu checked the livestream again. The viewers were already debating the performance specs and ticket prices of the ship. She felt a sudden tightness in her chest. She had actually wanted to see them go from excitement to the same "what a scam" feeling she had experienced.
*Am I too greedy?* she wondered gloomily.
"Are you going in or not?" Little Dragon Maiden urged, expressionless.
"What’s the rush? The aliens won't starve to death in a few minutes," Liang Xiaoyu muttered, stepping into the cabin.
"Wait, I’m coming too," one volunteer shouted.
Following that, six more volunteers stepped forward—five men and one woman, all of whom clearly possessed significant combat skills. The others were interested, but decided to wait and see for a while longer.
Little Dragon Maiden was the last to enter the cabin.
"Everyone here?" Logan asked, removing the unlit cigar from his mouth.
Little Dragon Maiden nodded.
"Everyone, prepare to enjoy your journey," Logan grinned, revealing the steel claws on his right hand for a split second before retracting them just as quickly.
He snapped his fingers, and a flash of white light filled the cabin. The white light vanished in an instant, and all eight of them were gone.
