Chapter 130: The Mountain-Suppressing Secret Realm
Ye Wuya gently picked up the scroll from the table and unfurled it.
Ye Yunque: The sister of Ye Yunlong, the current head of the Ye family. After the Ye family's decline, she was selected by an elder from the Qingyun Sect and taken into the sect. With the support of the sect's resources, her natural talent blossomed, and her cultivation progressed by leaps and bounds. She has now broken through the Form-Gathering Realm and is being cultivated by the Qingyun Sect as a core disciple.
Seeing this, Ye Wuya stopped reading.
"I didn't expect Ye Yunque to have already broken through to the Form-Gathering Realm!"
Ye Wuya murmured, then picked up the scroll to look at the entry for Dongfang Yanran, wondering if her special constitution had been discovered.
Dongfang Yanran: The daughter of Mu Qing, head of the Mu family. Born of a rape committed by Mu Qing against her mother, she lived a life worse than a servant in the Mu household. She was intended for a marriage alliance with the Lu family, but later killed her fiancé and fled, adopting her mother's surname and renaming herself Dongfang Yanran. She was subsequently discovered by an elder of the Qingyun Sect and brought back to be fully cultivated!
Note: Dongfang Yanran possesses a Spirit Body!
A Spirit Body? Ye Wuya pondered for a moment before coming to a realization; he guessed the Qingyun Sect had likely mistaken her "Wood Spirit Sacred Body" for a common Spirit Body.
Ye Wuya also noted that all traces of his own activities had been erased; not a single piece of information about him remained. He couldn't help but marvel at the power of the Immortal Moon Sacred Land—it could wipe away all records of his movements, making him feel like an invisible man.
"Hmm?"
Ye Wuya let out a soft sound of surprise. There was one final entry.
Name: Zhenshan Secret Realm.
Zhenshan Zhenren, during his lifetime, was a Nascent Soul stage expert with immense magical power who single-handedly suppressed the Yan region for hundreds of years. He was known as the foremost figure of the Yan region in the last millennium. As his lifespan neared its end, he created a secret realm to serve as his burial place.
This realm contains all the treasures collected by Zhenshan Zhenren over hundreds of years, making it a veritable treasure trove. Moreover, having no disciples, he left his legacy within this realm, which is said to contain supreme secret arts and vast riches. The realm opens once every fifty years to seek a person of destiny to inherit his supreme legacy and perhaps create another powerhouse capable of suppressing the Yan region for centuries.
The seal of this realm has begun to loosen and will open in about a month. However, there is a restriction: any cultivator at or above the Golden Core stage is blocked from entering. Only those below the Golden Core stage can safely enter to seek their fortune. Attempting to force one's way in results in being obliterated by the realm's defenses.
In the past, more than a dozen Golden Core cultivators tried to force their way in to advance their cultivation, and none ever returned. Reports state they were all killed by the realm and ceased to exist. Later, the secret realm came under the control of the Qingyun Sect, the Lieyang Sect, and the Yan royal family. Experts from these three parties guard the entrance year-round, using it as a training ground for their own disciples and treating it like their private garden. Other unauthorized persons are forbidden from approaching.
Ye Wuya continued reading with great interest.
"Hmm? This is the list of those entering!" Ye Wuya’s gaze sharpened as he scanned the names. Unfortunately, among the three hundred names, he found both Dongfang Yanran and Ye Yunque.
He set the scroll down, his head beginning to ache. They were both going? What was he to do? After some thought, Ye Wuya decided he had to enter the realm as well. He could not put his mind at ease regarding the two women. The Qingyun Sect and the Lieyang Sect were already at daggers drawn, and both sides had issued orders to kill the other on sight. The conflict between them might well erupt during this expedition. Whoever obtained the legacy of Zhenshan Zhenren would give the other side an excuse for all-out war. It was even possible that the Yan royal family would intervene; no ruler wants two powerful entities within their borders that are not under their control.
If the two women went in, their chances of survival were slim. He didn't want to see either of them fail to return. If Ye Yunque perished, how could he face Ye Ruyue, Ye Ruxue, and his father-in-law? What a mess.
Ye Wuya rubbed his temples in frustration. He was the only one who could get in; Jiang Xiaoxiao could not follow him, as she would be unable to enter. Now, another problem presented itself: he lacked an entry quota. There were only three hundred spots in total, with the Lieyang Sect, the Qingyun Sect, and the royal family each taking one hundred. The Lieyang Sect was his enemy, the royal family had no ties to him, and as for the Qingyun Sect, he had just recently teased their sect leader—there was no way they would give him a spot.
If he forced his way in, there would be no point in sneaking; he might as well reveal his identity to the two women and tell them not to go. He believed they would listen to him, but upon reflection, that might not be necessary. If he forced his way in, the Yan region would descend into chaos. Jiang Xiaoxiao had told him that while there appeared to be only three giants in the Yan region, there were many hidden masters, as evidenced by the previous trip to the ruins.
The more he thought, the more his head hurt, so he stopped and continued reading. After a while, he brightened up. In addition to the three major powers, there were fifty spots reserved for a loose cultivators' alliance. Coincidentally, he saw the name "Chao Tianxiang" on that list. If this Chao Tianxiang was the same one he knew from Ling City, he could potentially infiltrate the realm under the cover of this alliance. This alliance consisted of fifty Golden Core cultivators, each of whom had one nomination spot.
Ye Wuya’s expression turned sinister. He had never claimed to be a gentleman. Strategy first, force later. He would find a cultivator with a spot and have a "pleasant chat." If they refused? He chuckled, his mind already spinning with schemes.
After finishing the scroll, Ye Wuya sat down to clear his mind. He still hadn't found a way to cultivate the energy in his body known as "Source Qi." He had scoured the Qingyun Sect’s scriptures, yet there was no mention of it.
"It seems this Source Qi is rare even in the Immortal Chant realm; there is not a single record of it," Ye Wuya sighed. The energy rampaged through his body, beyond his control. Whenever he tried to guide it with his divine sense, it would dart away. He had tried circulating it according to the Qingyun Sect’s techniques, but it had yielded absolutely no reaction.
