Chapter 106: From Senior to Ancestor
"And you wouldn't have been hurt so badly!" The two women spoke, their voices trembling with the hint of impending tears.
In an instant, Ye Wuya returned to his normal composure, looking at Ye Ruyue and Ye Ruxue with a heart full of tenderness.
"You two silly girls, am I not perfectly fine? So what if my meridians are broken and I can no longer cultivate? I’ll just find another path!"
Ye Wuya comforted them, pulling the two women into an embrace and gently stroking their hair.
Xue Qing stood up and walked toward Ye Wuya, reaching out as if to embrace them as well. Ye Wuya immediately pulled the two women back, stepping two meters away from her.
"Husband, what are you doing?" Xue Qing froze, failing to understand his actions.
The two women in his arms wore the same look of confusion. Ye Wuya glanced at them, shook his head, and smiled self-deprecatingly.
"If only all of this were real."
He hugged Ye Ruyue and Ye Ruxue tightly, lingeringly tucking the hair behind their ears.
"Husband, what are you saying? Real or fake? We have been here for over a year; do you have no memory of it at all?" Xue Qing asked softly.
"Everything here feels so real. I truly wish I could remain lost in it forever," Ye Wuya sighed, shaking his head. "No wonder you call this technique the 'Degenerate Dance of Wind, Flowers, Snow, and Moon'."
Xue Qing’s body trembled. She asked tentatively, "Husband, what are you talking about? What 'Degenerate Dance'? I don't understand."
Ye Wuya did not reply. He lowered his head, kissed each of the two women on the forehead, and said softly, "You two fools, take good care of yourselves. I will come for you."
The two women slowly dissipated in his arms.
Seeing them vanish, Xue Qing began to laugh instead.
"Senior, how did you discover it?" Jiang Xiaoxiao’s voice emanated from Xue Qing’s mouth.
"Return to your true form first," Ye Wuya said coldly, his previous tenderness entirely gone.
"Oh, alright!"
Jiang Xiaoxiao nodded. Her figure blurred, shifting into a veiled young girl—the real Jiang Xiaoxiao.
"That shouldn't be, Senior. This world was formed by your own inner fantasies. How were you not consumed by it?" Jiang Xiaoxiao walked around Ye Wuya several times, gesturing at the world around them.
"Do you truly think a petty technique like this could trap me?" Ye Wuya countered, his tone icy.
"Then when did you realize it, Senior?" Jiang Xiaoxiao asked curiously.
"The moment I stepped inside," Ye Wuya lied, feigning an air of unfathomable wisdom.
In reality, if it hadn't been for the blood-gold text in his sea of consciousness detecting that he was "too deep in character" and breaking his memories, Ye Wuya would likely have remained lost forever.
"Oh, I see!"
Jiang Xiaoxiao nodded. She had naively believed that Ye Wuya had fallen for her "Degenerate Dance" and would be trapped, only to realize he hadn't been affected at all and had been playing along with her for so long.
"Judging by your earlier intent, you wanted to see my true face?" Ye Wuya murmured coldly.
"Yes, I wanted to know what you looked like. A master as powerful as you shouldn't be nameless." Jiang Xiaoxiao nodded.
That was indeed her true motive. She knew exactly what level of person her master was—a top-tier powerhouse at the pinnacle of the Immortal Chant, a deity whose mere foot-tap could turn the world upside down. Since this senior was familiar with her master, she assumed he was from the same era. She had hoped to uncover his true identity, thinking that if he wouldn't answer in reality, she could trick it out of him here. Instead, she had gained nothing and had spent all that time acting out a farce.
"Everything here is a manifestation of my inner thoughts, correct?" Ye Wuya asked.
"Yes," Jiang Xiaoxiao nodded. "These are your inner worlds; I only made minor adjustments."
"In that case, you should be able to simulate my appearance, shouldn't you?" Ye Wuya pondered. He reasoned that if this dance could tap into his deepest psyche and recreate Ye Ruyue, Ye Ruxue, and Xue Qing so vividly, simulating himself should be effortless. Yet, Jiang Xiaoxiao had never done so.
"Senior, I have tried to simulate your face, but I couldn't. Your shadow is incredibly blurry, as if, deep within your heart, you do not exist at all!"
Jiang Xiaoxiao looked at him with a complex expression. Normally, a person's own image is the most profound part of their inner world. But Ye Wuya’s inner world was as if he weren't there—or rather, he was just a vague, blurry shadow.
*Hm? My own image in my inner world is a shadow? Could it be...*
A terrifying figure crossed Ye Wuya’s mind: The Blood Demon.
If his inner self was truly just a shadow, it was highly probable that it belonged to that Blood Demon entity. If this incident hadn't confirmed that the Blood Demon had indeed left behind a contingency plan, he might have remained skeptical.
Ye Wuya felt a surge of rage. *That grandson of a Blood Demon really did leave a trap! But you shouldn't have chosen me as your vessel! Since that's the case, I won't be polite about taking everything you have!*
How to be impolite? By using everything the Blood Demon left behind to make himself as powerful as possible before the contingency could fully manifest. After all, the wealthiest holy lands are never short on treasures, powerful artifacts, and divine elixirs.
"Watch closely!"
Ye Wuya let out a cold snort, calming his mind and focusing his mental energy. He realized that since this world was triggered by his own psyche, he could indirectly alter its contents. He had used this same logic to make the two women disappear earlier.
Ye Wuya had decided to claim the title of the Blood Demon for himself. He had previously loathed the name, considering everyone but the Immortal Moon Holy Land his enemy. But since the Immortal Moon Holy Land had stood for thousands of years, it must possess vast foundations. From this moment on, he would no longer care about the stigma of the Blood Demon.
As he focused his mental energy, the wounds on his body began to fade.
In moments, all traces of injury vanished, revealing a refined, perfectly handsome face.
"An... Ancestor!"
Jiang Xiaoxiao stared, dumbfounded, at the face—an exact replica of the Blood Demon Ancestor portrayed in the portraits within the Immortal Moon Forbidden Ground. She trembled as she stuttered the word.
