“Husband, I’m not exactly sure myself. Ever since you fell from the sky, we suddenly lost consciousness. When we woke up, we found ourselves here. For the full details, you’ll have to ask Sister Qing. My sister and I haven’t inquired further.”

“Hmm.”

Ye Wuya nodded. Once they returned and met Xue Qing, he would get a clear understanding of everything that had happened.

“Let’s go.”

Gently caressing Ye Ru Xue’s silky hair, Ye Wuya said softly.

“Hmm.”

Ye Ru Xue responded and took Ye Wuya’s hand, leading him in another direction.

“Hmm?”

A strange feeling stirred within Ye Wuya. Something felt off, yet he couldn’t pinpoint what. It was as if his mind was missing a piece, but what exactly was absent eluded him.

Ye Ru Xue walked alongside Ye Wuya through the snow. He glanced back at the footprints they left behind—a pair, one large and one small.

Turning his head slowly—

At the very moment Ye Wuya turned, the footprints vanished instantaneously, as if they had never existed.

Snowflakes drifted down silently.

Ye Wuya looked at the joyful Ye Ru Xue. Her military uniform was dusted with fine snowflakes, and remnants of snow settled on her hair.

He glanced at himself; not a single flake clung to him, as if he didn’t belong to this world.

Quickly shaking his head to dismiss such unreal thoughts, he focused wholeheartedly on immersing himself in this world.

After walking for ten minutes, Ye Wuya felt they had gone far from their earlier location, yet before him lay only a vast expanse of white snow, with no sign of life.

“Xue’er, how far is home?”

Ye Wuya asked gently. He had no memory of this home but longed for it deeply—perhaps a yearning from his heart.

“Husband, almost there. After crossing the river ahead, you’ll see it.”

Ye Ru Xue smiled sweetly over her shoulder and replied naturally.

“Hmm, good.”

Ye Wuya nodded and followed her briskly.

After several more minutes, the endless snowy landscape gave way to a wide frozen river—hundreds of meters across, its ice surface smooth as glass, reflecting their shadows captivatingly.

At some moment, the snow ceased falling. Sunlight poured onto the ice, shimmering brilliantly. Beneath the transparent surface, a river flowed slowly.

Silently, Ye Wuya crossed the ice river, as if stepping into another world.

A lush forest appeared before him.

The mountain was silent and desolate; a cold crescent moon hung like a hook in the sky. Cold stars twinkled above like scattered chess pieces.

The valley, once bleak and deserted, seemed lifeless at first glance. Yet, upon closer look, the ground blossomed with colorful flowers, trees stood lush and green, and the air was filled with the fragrant mingling of blossoms and fresh greenery—a scent so intoxicating it enchanted the senses.

Suddenly, a bird’s cry pierced the quiet night, breathing life into the lonely valley. Flocks of birds soared from the horizon—thousands of black crows, endless in number.

Ye Wuya stared in awe, entranced by the scene.

“Pfft, haha,” Ye Ru Xue laughed heartily at his expression.

“What’s going on?” Ye Wuya asked, dazed. Had they traveled from winter into spring?

“Husband, I was like you the first time I saw this. This place has four regions, each with a different season, according to Sister Qing.”

Ye Ru Xue smiled as she explained.

“So amazing! Such a place exists?”

Ye Wuya was incredulous. A single place with the four seasons? Truly, the world was vast and full of wonders.

“Come on, husband, home is just ahead.”

Ye Ru Xue happily took his hand and led him forward.

After a while, a valley filled with birdsong and floral fragrance appeared.

A sea of flowers of every variety stretched before them, with a narrow path winding through. At the far end of the bloom, a plume of smoke rose faintly.

The scent of flowers invigorated Ye Wuya’s spirit, and he held Ye Ru Xue’s hand firmly as they walked deeper.

At the end of the flower sea was a gently flowing stream, its quiet murmur soothing the soul.

This was the life Ye Wuya had imagined, a dream now realized.

A simple wooden bridge spanned the stream, connecting the flower meadow to the other side.

Across the stream stood a modest wooden cabin, the source of the rising smoke.

In front of the house, two blurred figures were busy at work.

Ye Wuya led Ye Ru Xue onward. Neither spoke as they quietly crossed the bridge, their footsteps echoing softly.

Before the cabin, a wooden table was laden with old-fashioned dishes, surrounded by four bamboo chairs.

A woman’s back was visible as she arranged bowls and chopsticks.

“Yue’er!”

That figure—the woman—was none other than Ye Wuya’s beloved Ye Ru Yue.

He called softly, his eyes warm with affection as he watched her busy form.

The woman trembled, then swiftly turned around, her eyes spinning in their sockets. In an instant, she covered the ten meters between them and threw herself into Ye Wuya’s embrace.

Holding her tightly, Ye Ru Xue quietly went to the back to continue her tasks, leaving the space between Ye Ru Yue and Ye Wuya alone.

“Husband, have you… remembered everything?” Ye Ru Yue asked through tears of joy.

“Remembered? What do you mean?” Ye Wuya was puzzled, unaware of what she meant by “remembered.”

“What’s my name?” Ye Ru Yue pointed at herself.

“Ye Ru Yue,” Ye Wuya answered, although uncertain why she asked.

“And who are you?” she asked again.

“I am Ye Wuya,” he replied.

“Husband, you really have remembered! That’s wonderful, truly wonderful!”

Ye Ru Yue clung tightly to him, pressing her face against his broad chest, holding him close as if wanting to merge with him completely.

“What do you mean by ‘I’ve remembered’?” Ye Wuya asked, holding her.

“Didn’t that silly girl Xue’er tell you?” Ye Ru Yue lifted her head to ask.

“Tell me what?” Ye Wuya questioned, confused.

“Hmph, that silly girl hasn’t told you anything!” Ye Ru Yue snorted.

“Husband, do you still recall how you used the Disintegration Technique frantically three times back then?” Ye Ru Yue asked.

“Yes, I remember. I exploded the Disintegration Technique enough to catch up to you all, then waited for you to come back and pick you up. After that, I lost consciousness,” Ye Wuya reflected.

“Yue’er, what happened next? I asked Xue’er, but she wouldn’t say! She told me to come back and ask Sister Qing…”
