Chapter 117: Jun Yang Sets Out for the Azure Dragon Clan
The estate of the Azure Dragon Clan is even larger and more luxurious than that of the Candle Dragon Clan; after all, Fan Wuwei was never a person who paid much attention to such details, so his own residence could not compare.
Jun Yang had just arrived at the main gate of the Azure Dragon estate when a servant hurried over to inquire, "May I ask who you are looking for?"
"Qing Yushan."
The servant was stunned. It was the first time he had ever heard anyone other than the ancestor of the Candle Dragon Clan dare to address their clan leader by his full name so bluntly—and the person before him looked so young.
"May I ask who you are?" the servant asked cautiously.
"Jun Yang of the Teng Snake Clan."
"Jun... Yang?" The servant counted on his fingers for a long time. He knew the acting head of the Teng Snake Clan was called Jun Jue, but who was Jun Yang?
"Well?" Jun Yang frowned, looking down at the dazed servant. "Are you not going in to announce me?"
"Oh, right, yes!" The servant snapped out of his trance and hurried toward the inner courtyard. As he neared the gate, he finally recalled who this familiar-sounding name belonged to. Instantly horrified, he accelerated into a sprint, shouting as he ran, "Disaster! The ancestor of the Teng Snake Clan has come to rob us!"
"What did you say?" A passing Azure Dragon clansman grabbed the servant by the collar and demanded, "Who did you say? And doing what?"
Breaking into a cold sweat, the servant stammered, "The... the leader of the Teng Snake Clan... he’s here to rob us..."
"What?!!"
The faces of the gathered clansmen filled with righteous indignation. "How dare he bully our dragon clan!" With that, they let go of the servant and rushed toward the gate.
Qing Yide, who happened to be passing by, saw the massive crowd surging toward the entrance and grabbed one of them. "What is going on?"
The person was a younger member of a branch family, about the same age as Qing Mo. "What’s going on? What happened? Why such a large formation?"
The junior, his face burning with rage, clenched his fists and said, "The Teng Snake Clan has come to our doorstep to rob us, Uncle Yide! We must go out and help!" He then continued running toward the exit.
"???" Qing Yide was full of confusion. "The Teng Snake Clan is at our doorstep?"
The news spread quickly throughout the Azure Dragon estate, and more and more people flocked to the main gate. The gate was exceptionally wide, almost like a city gate, so it was large enough to accommodate the surging crowd. At first, as people ran out and stared at Jun Yang, he remained indifferent. But to his surprise, within fifteen minutes, half the clan had surrounded him.
Jun Yang’s expression soured. Were they treating him like a monkey in a cage?
What was wrong with Qing Yushan? It was one thing that that old geezer Fan Wuwei couldn't manage his own people, but how could the Azure Dragon Clan be so ill-mannered?
Seeing Jun Yang’s grim expression, the gathered clansmen became even more convinced by the servant's claim that he had come to rob them. They clenched their fists, desperately holding back. After all, they were self-aware; if their own ancestor couldn't defeat Jun Yang, they certainly stood no chance. However, they refused to show weakness, adhering to the principle of "don't move unless the enemy moves," and stared at him with intense caution.
Jun Yang’s patience wore thin. A surge of frustration welled up in his chest. He turned toward the gate and shouted in a voice that echoed through the entire estate: "Qing Yushan, you old geezer, get out here!"
The shout shocked the entire courtyard. The rumors seemed to be becoming more credible by the second.
Qing Yushan, naturally, heard the voice and was puzzled. They had been drinking together just the day before and had even attended an auction; why was he suddenly so furious? He stood up and hurried toward the gate, but found the walk increasingly strange. There was not a soul to be seen inside the clan grounds; instead, the entrance was packed with people.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Qing Yushan roared at his clansmen.
The crowd turned around and made way for him, whispering as they did so, "Ancestor, the ancestor of the Teng Snake Clan is here to rob us."
"What?"
Qing Yushan walked outside, utterly bewildered, and saw Jun Yang, whose expression was even more wretched than before.
"What is going on?"
Jun Yang rolled his eyes in annoyance. "What is going on? You're asking me? I want to ask you!"
Qing Yushan stepped out and stood opposite Jun Yang. "You want to rob the Azure Dragon Clan?"
"Rob, my foot!" Jun Yang cursed irritably. "I just asked a servant to announce that I was here to see you! And your entire clan comes running out to gawk at me—what are you doing? Starting a rebellion?"
Qing Yushan glanced back at his clansmen, his expression complex. He had no idea how things had devolved into this.
"I actually feel like robbing you now," Jun Yang sighed heavily, glancing sideways at Qing Yushan.
Qing Yushan offered an awkward smile, turned back to his clansmen, and bellowed, "Get back, all of you! What is all this nonsense?"
The clansmen looked at the two ancestors at the gate, confused, and began to shuffle back into the courtyard.
"It’s not a robbery?"
"Who said it was a robbery?"
"What’s going on?"
"I don’t know, I was sleeping and just ran out when I heard someone was robbing us."
Seeing the juniors return to the inner courtyard, Qing Yushan turned back, feeling rather embarrassed. "I will be sure to discipline that gatekeeper later."
"Hmph." Jun Yang let out a cold snort, flicked his sleeves, and walked into the Azure Dragon estate. Qing Yushan shrugged helplessly and followed behind.
Once they were seated in the main hall, Qing Yushan asked, "What brings you here to see me?"
Jun Yang had not yet calmed down, and his tone remained sharp. "I’m looking for a Dao artifact—one that can record a person’s memories and observe their innermost thoughts and gossip."
Qing Yushan cast a glance at Jun Yang. That still sounded remarkably like a robbery.
Jun Yang, sensing Qing Yushan’s hesitation, summoned the Ancient Azure Dragon Sword and slammed it onto the table. Qing Yushan stood up immediately. "What? Are you really here to rob me? If you want that kind of artifact, I’ll just give it to you; there’s no need for this."
Jun Yang glared at him. "I told you, I’m not here to rob you. If you have such an artifact, I’ll trade this Ancient Azure Dragon Sword for it."
Qing Yushan was stunned. A moment later, he asked in disbelief, "You are truly willing to trade the Ancient Azure Dragon Sword for it?"
"Yes." Jun Yang nodded firmly and pushed the sword forward. "If you have it, I will trade!"
The Ancient Azure Dragon Sword had been snatched away by Jun Yang 500,000 years ago, and it had even acknowledged him as its master. The Azure Dragon Clan had never been able to do anything about Jun Yang, let alone the sword. It was meant to be a clan heirloom to be worshipped and managed by the clan leader, but once it had bonded with Jun Yang, even if they took it back, it would simply fly back to his side. Eventually, the Azure Dragon Clan had simply given up on it.
Qing Yushan never expected that Jun Yang would be willing to return this sword just for some gossip-related Dao artifact.
"Very well. I will send my people to search the treasury."
"Good." Jun Yang took a final look at the Ancient Azure Dragon Sword. Having held it for so long, it would be a lie to say he had no attachment to it. But if it meant exchanging it for a Dao artifact that the little ancestor wanted—and one that originally belonged to the Azure Dragon Clan anyway—it was well worth it.
Qing Yushan stood up and walked to the door, fearing that Jun Yang might change his mind. "There are many treasures in the treasury; it may take a few days to sort through them. Will you stay for a few days?"
"Fine," Jun Yang said, putting the sword away for the time being. "I shall wait."
