Chapter 114: The Origin of the Little One

The creature seemed to quickly sense the danger emanating from the flames in You Xiyue’s hand and began to cease its movements. Yet the brightness remained undiminished, flickering more rapidly, clearly showing signs of fear. Step by step, You Xiyue approached, lowering her gaze to examine the glowing being curled up in the corner.
After a long while of burying its head, waiting in vain for You Xiyue to act, it suddenly lifted its bare head, its large eyes blinking as they met her gaze. It was a snow-white insect with two slender, sharp horns sprouting from its forehead. At the tips of these horns glowed two white orbs, constantly emitting a chilling aura.
You Xiyue opened her palm in front of it, making her intentions unmistakable. The little insect cocked its head, pondered for a moment, then curled its body and crawled onto her hand. You Xiyue gently poked one of the insect’s sharp horns with her finger, only to be instantly cut. Blood trickled down, dropping onto the insect’s head.
The insect looked up at You Xiyue, seeming somewhat innocent. She pursed her lips, glanced at her finger—the wound was already healing but still tinged with a faint blue. She hadn’t expected to get frostbitten. Furrowing her brows slightly, she noticed the insect curled up again, guarding its sharp horns.
“I never said I was going to chop off your horns,” You Xiyue said helplessly, standing up and heading out of the cave with the little insect in tow.
Jun Yang saw You Xiyue’s figure and hurried over. The tiny creature resting in her palm immediately caught his attention. When the little insect lifted its head and flashed its horns twice, Jun Yang felt a chill rush over him and took a couple of steps back.
“Is this little thing the reason Snow Cang Mountain is so cold?” Jun Yang asked. Fan Wuwei stepped closer too, though not daring to get too near. Despite its small size, the creature was clearly no ordinary being. In his knowledge, there was no record of such a creature—it was an unknown entity, and unknown things were always terrifying, much like Jun Yang’s “little ancestor.”
You Xiyue poked the insect again, warning, “Behave.” The little creature curled up again and avoided looking at Jun Yang. Only then did Jun Yang move closer, looking at it from all sides but unable to identify its species.
“Is it from the Dao Realm or the Xu Xuan Realm?” Since its nature was unclear, it had to belong to an unknown world.
You Xiyue was also uncertain about what the little insect truly was but was sure of one thing: “Xu Xuan Realm.” Jun Yang furrowed his brows, surprised by the creature’s origins. You Xiyue added, “It can easily cut me.”
“...” Fan Wuwei was already stunned when Jun Yang asked about the Dao or Xu Xuan Realm, and You Xiyue’s comment shocked him even more.

Jun Yang was naturally very shaken. If this little creature could easily harm You Xiyue, then the Holy Realm wasn’t... The little insect lifted its head again, quietly observing the three of them.
Just as Jun Yang thought, if this creature were to get angry, the Holy Realm might instantly turn into a frozen wasteland, perhaps even colder than Snow Cang Mountain.
Suddenly, Jun Yang asked, “Is the Snow Region Saintess hiding here for this thing?” You Xiyue nodded, “Most likely.”
After all, this little fellow was discovered in the dantian of the Snow Region Saintess, indicating there must be something attracting it there. The saintess likely intended to merge this creature into her dantian. But You Xiyue’s interference had foiled the plan, and the creature’s retaliation naturally targeted the Feng clan, closely connected to You Xiyue.
The blood that had dripped onto the little insect’s head, which had initially solidified, now vanished without a trace. You Xiyue glanced coldly at the spot before tucking the little creature into her sleeve.
“You two go have some drinks. I’m tired.” In a blink, the two were left behind on Snow Cang Mountain. Fan Wuwei closed his mouth, which had hung open in surprise, then turned to Jun Yang and asked, “Drink?”
“Sure.” The two walked side by side toward the valley exit, and the temperature on Snow Cang Mountain instantly rose. Fan Wuwei even felt it was a bit warm now.
Back at the Teng Snake Cave Mansion, You Xiyue took the little creature from her sleeve and placed it on the stone table. The table immediately turned into an ice surface. Snow Yu, who had been sleeping, suddenly opened her eyes and jumped toward the creature.
Far away in the Demon Realm, Xun Yu also sensed the presence of this being and was stunned for a long time. The little creature and Snow Yu stared at each other, both glowing, locked in a silent standoff. Neither was willing to yield.
You Xiyue rested her chin on her hand, troubled. “What should I name you?”
A name was necessary. While she sat motionless pondering, the two creatures remained locked in their silent confrontation. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck You Xiyue: “Aurora.”
The little insect buried its head again, seemingly disapproving. Snow Yu gave a disdainful glance before hopping back onto the bed to resume sleeping. This made You Xiyue doubt herself for once.
“It’s not that bad, is it?” But with Jun Yang absent, neither creature responded.
Fan Wuwei pulled Jun Yang toward the Fan family tavern, clearly a property of the Candle Dragon clan. After the waiter served the dishes, he promptly withdrew, leaving the two ample space to talk.
“What is the Dao Realm? And what is the Xu Xuan Realm?”
Fan Wuwei had been holding back and finally asked, feeling relieved after voicing his curiosity. Jun Yang lifted his chin. “You first call that old fellow at the door in. He’s the most interested in this, isn’t he?”

Fan Wuwei glanced toward the door—there was no one there.
“Are you drunk?” Jun Yang, just about to raise his cup, stopped mid-motion. “I haven’t even drunk yet!”
“Where’s the person?”
“Oh, at the entrance of Teng Snake Cave Mansion.”
“...” Fan Wuwei snorted twice, silently complaining that Jun Yang’s concern was rather distant.
Nevertheless, he stood and went outside. Soon, Fan Wuwei returned with Qing Yushan. Jun Yang, however, was already somewhat tipsy.
“This wine is pretty bad,” Fan Wuwei muttered, blowing on his beard. “And yet you drank so much.”
Two empty wine jars sat beside them. Fan Wuwei felt like he hadn’t been gone long at all.
Qing Yushan sat down, poured himself a cup, and began drinking as well. Fan Wuwei was at a loss—what kind of strange habit was this? Drinking alone while sitting side by side?
“I brought the person. Can you tell us now?” Fan Wuwei interrupted the two who were drinking on their own.
Jun Yang hiccupped and smiled. “The Dao Realm? It’s above the Holy Realm.”
“What about the Sacred Land?” Qing Yushan put down his cup and stared at Jun Yang intently. After all, that was his ultimate goal.
“The little ancestor said it’s a miniature world casually created by someone from the Dao Realm.”
“...” Fan Wuwei and Qing Yushan exchanged glances, both shocked by what they saw in each other’s eyes.
“How does one reach the Dao Realm?” Qing Yushan pressed.
“By enlightenment—once you comprehend one of the Three Thousand Great Dao, you go there.” Jun Yang waved the wine jar beside him and emptied it again.
“And what about the Xu Xuan Realm?” Fan Wuwei’s eyes locked on Jun Yang as he asked.
Jun Yang slammed the wine jar on the table, drunk or pretending to be. “That’s the little ancestor’s world. I can’t go there.”
“Heh... I can’t help with that...” He said and drank again.
Fan Wuwei and Qing Yushan had no more questions. If the Dao Realm was unreachable, what use was asking about the Xu Xuan Realm?
