Chapter 101: The Final Revelation (Part Two)

After Jin Yulian hung up the phone, she said to Lawyer Gu, “Lawyer Gu, let’s wait for him at my company.” Lawyer Gu nodded, and the three of us each drove to Jin Yulian’s office.

Xiao He was visibly surprised when she saw me arrive in the big G. She hadn’t expected me to be driving such a fine car. She prepared tea for me and Lawyer Gu. Just as we settled in the reception room, Qian Duobao arrived by car.

He pushed open the door impatiently and exclaimed, “Yulian, have you missed me? Can’t wait to get married already?”

When he saw Lawyer Gu and me there, he gave an awkward smile and said, “Yulian, who are these other guests?”

Jin Yulian replied calmly, “Mr. Qian, please sit down. I have something to discuss with you today.”

Qian Duobao grinned, “Yulian, we’re almost family now. Why are you calling me that?”

Suddenly, he recognized me as the worker who had smashed his bathtub. He immediately stood up and shouted, “You bastard! What are you doing here? Damn it, you broke my one-million-yuan imported bathtub! I’m going to settle this with you for sure.”

Jin Yulian stopped him, “Mr. Qian, hasn’t that bathtub incident already passed? Why bring it up again?”

Qian Duobao looked confused, “Yulian, tell me, who exactly is this guy to you? Damn it! Are you trying to cheat on me?”

Jin Yulian blushed deeply, “Mr. Qian, you’re an upper-class gentleman; why would you say such nonsense? We’re not even married yet.”

Qian Duobao huffed angrily, “How is that nonsense? You’re my fiancée, and we’re getting married in a month. And now you’re cozying up to him with unclear intentions? How can I not care?”

Jin Yulian finally lost patience and said directly, “Qian Duobao, enough! I’m telling you clearly now — we are not compatible.”

Qian Duobao was stunned and shouted, “Jin Yulian, what do you mean by that?”

Jin Yulian raised her voice, “Qian Duobao, I won’t marry you. I called you here today to end things between us. Do you understand?”

Qian Duobao was furious, “Jin Yulian, are you trying to break off the engagement?”

Jin Yulian nodded, “Yes, I’ve decided not to marry you anymore.”

Qian Duobao fixed his gaze on me, “Yulian, are you planning to marry this trash?”

I was incensed. I grabbed the tea from my cup and splashed it onto Qian Duobao’s neck, cursing, “You’re the real trash! Damn it! Your whole family’s trash.”

Caught off guard, Qian Duobao was drenched in tea and leaves. He exploded in rage, “Trash? How dare you attack me!” and lunged at me.

Pampered and spoiled, Qian Duobao had little fighting skill. As he charged, I kicked him in the stomach. He howled in pain and collapsed to the floor, still yelling, “Trash! You dared to attack me. I won’t let you off! I’ll make sure you go to jail!”

Furious, I kicked him several more times until Jin Yulian worried I might get into trouble and quickly pulled me back.

Qian Duobao scrambled up in panic and spat insults, “Jin Yulian, you filthy bitch! You dare betray me? I won’t let you and this dog man off!” Though cursing, he was too scared of further attack and fled, rolling and crawling out.

Lawyer Gu hurried after him, “Mr. Qian, wait! Let’s settle this properly first.”

Qian Duobao shoved him away, “Settle my ass! How dare you hit me? I won’t forgive you.”

He jumped into his car and called the police, claiming he had been assaulted. Soon, the police arrived and took us to the station for questioning. Fortunately, Lawyer Gu was present. He testified that the altercation was mutual and that Qian Duobao was unharmed. The police gave us a stern warning and prepared to release us.

Qian Duobao was displeased and brought up the bathtub incident again. I explained that the tub had already been damaged before. The police, finding insufficient evidence, did not file a case and advised Qian Duobao to sue through his lawyer.

His face turned green with anger as he cursed, “Jin Yulian, aren’t you afraid your company will go bankrupt?”

Jin Yulian said coolly, “That’s none of your concern.”

Qian Duobao roared, “Jin Yulian, pay back the loan and interest, or I’ll sue to seize your company as debt repayment.”

Jin Yulian stood firm, “With Lawyer Gu and the police here, they can attest that I’ve repaid the loan. Don’t come harassing me anymore.”

Qian Duobao had thought he could use the loan as leverage to make Jin Yulian submit, but never expected she could produce such funds. Stunned, he asked, “Where did you get the money?”

Jin Yulian replied, “That’s none of your business. With the lawyer and police as witnesses, I’m repaying you now and clearing the loan.”

Though reluctant, Qian Duobao finally agreed to settle the loan contract. After all, Jin Yulian had clearly stated she would not marry him. If he failed to collect the money, it would be a loss both financially and personally.

Qian Duobao’s fury gradually subsided. As a respectable figure, he dared not act recklessly in front of the lawyer and police, knowing it wouldn’t help and would only damage his reputation.

He called his secretary to bring the loan contract, and under the lawyer’s supervision, the contract was formally settled.

Jin Yulian’s secret account held tens of millions from goods sales plus loans, enough to repay Qian Duobao’s seventy million principal and interest.

After the loan matter was handled, Lawyer Gu had other business and took his leave. Jin Yulian and I left the police station.

We first returned to the company, where Jin Yulian had some matters to attend to. By the time she finished, it was already noon, so we planned to find a fast-food restaurant nearby for lunch.

Her company was in the economic development zone, surrounded by many eateries. At lunchtime, all the fast-food places were busy. We chose one at random, found an empty table, and prepared to eat.
