Chapter 5: Buying a House Together (Please Add to Favorites and Recommend)
After leaving the headquarters of Lotus Television, Le Xiaotian walked out with a pained expression. The system had instantly bestowed him with extraordinary performance skills, but his physical constitution was still too weak. If he didn't handle it properly, it would be like forcing the growth of sprouts—purely overdrawing his vitality.
He wasn’t ready to die. He hadn’t married Su Yun yet, hadn’t traveled abroad, hadn’t bought a plane or a cruise ship, hadn’t played Le Ball—he hadn’t accomplished anything. He couldn’t die now.
He trudged across the footbridge, and when he finally found a seat on the subway, he felt the world was truly wonderful.
Over an hour later, he collected his luggage from Blue Sky Internet Café. After instructing the two new female managers, he headed straight for Su Yun’s home.
Twenty minutes later, he was outside Su Yun’s apartment door. He pressed the doorbell several times and called out with a smile, “Xiao Yun, open up.”
Soon, Su Yun opened the door, wearing a tight outfit for her static dance practice. “Why are you carrying a suitcase? Your face is so pale—don’t tell me you failed the interview and got upset?”
Swallowing secretly, Le Xiaotian stepped inside. “Pour me a glass of water. I’ll explain everything in a bit.”
Despite her many questions, Su Yun obediently went to pour him water.
Le Xiaotian settled himself on the central sofa in the living room, assuming the attitude of a master returning home.
It was a finely decorated three-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms. After her best friend moved out, Su Yun had left the place vacant. Though it was a rental, she didn’t lack money, so she simply kept it empty.
He’d wanted to live here since he’d helped her move in. Now his dream was about to come true—he was delighted.
Thinking of the good things to come, he lit a cigarette and took a satisfying puff.
He had barely inhaled when Su Yun snatched it away. “Smoke later. Drink water first.”
Though she took his cigarette, she still respected his masculine pride.
Le Xiaotian drank some water and patted his lap. “Come, sit here. I’ll explain everything slowly.”
Blushing, Su Yun scoffed gently, then sat beside him.
Wiping his mouth, Le Xiaotian’s expression grew serious. “I want to buy this place. You don’t mind, do you?”
Su Yun was stunned.
This was a high-end apartment, close to the subway in the second ring—at least two million. How could he have so much money?
If he were really that wealthy, why would he work as her humble internet café manager? Was he acting out a scene from “Chong Bohu Paints Orchid Fragrance”?
Sweetness bloomed in her heart, but Su Yun laughed and scolded, “What are you saying? I already have a house—why buy this one? Besides, if you have money, I’ll keep it for you. No, I’ll help you plan it out.”
Le Xiaotian asked in confusion, “Didn’t you check your phone this morning?”
He glanced at Su Yun dressed in her tight dancewear and relaxed.
Su Yun was a ninth-level static dancer, her skills exquisite.
Static dance, simply put, was even more impressive than yoga, martial arts, aerobics, or taekwondo.
In other words, her perfect figure and temperament were partly thanks to it.
If it came to a fight, she could easily take down ten of him as if it were nothing.
She must have been practicing and hadn’t checked her phone or seen the news.
After picking up her phone and scrolling through the messages, Su Yun was dumbfounded. There were thirty or more new deposits in her account.
Buzz-buzz, another message came in. Her balance had grown by over six million.
Seeing her bewildered expression, Le Xiaotian smiled. “I forgot to mention it last night. You’re not mad, right? The money is absolutely clean—use it as you wish. There will be plenty more in the future. As for buying this place, it’s because I want to live with you.”
A sudden blush swept across Su Yun’s face. She replied shyly, “What are you saying? Who wants to live with you? Wishful thinking.”
Le Xiaotian feigned dissatisfaction. “What’s wrong? Trying to deny it? I’ve successfully landed the singer-host job. You need to agree to one condition: that we live together here.”
Su Yun was speechless at his matter-of-fact tone.
Blinking her bright, watery eyes, she raised her voice. “Can you be any more shameless? Who made a bet with you? You said it yourself! Besides, now that you’re so rich, why live here?”
Knowing she was shy, Le Xiaotian didn’t press the issue but changed the subject. “Didn’t you always want to travel to Nierldive? I’ve never been abroad either—let’s go for a month. You can see if it’s suitable for dancing, and if it is, in half a year, I’ll buy half the islands there. Or, we could try Blue Moon Island in the North Sea first?”
Since yesterday, Su Yun couldn’t make sense of it.
Le Xiaotian’s courage had grown by leaps and bounds, almost beyond measure.
Yet today, he’d really landed the singer-host job.
And overnight, her account had grown by over six million.
Now, judging by his tone, buying half of Nierldive’s islands was a trivial matter.
That’s a country, for heaven’s sake—thousands of islands, how much would that cost? Isn’t this too much bragging?
Half skeptical, Su Yun said, “Tell me, what’s really going on?”
Le Xiaotian took out his second-hand laptop, connected to the WiFi, and logged into Melodious Web and Bean Bean ID.
Melodious Web, Le Ball’s music site, allowed users to upload original songs.
It had been his auxiliary move before today’s singer-host interview.
When he opened the page, he smiled. “Take a look.”
Su Yun placed the laptop on her lap. One glance and her jaw dropped.

When these ten world-famous songs—“Vanished,” “Starlit Sky,” “For Victory,” “Radiance,” “Victory,” “Heartbeat,” “Millennia,” “Eternity,” “The Rift Between Worlds,” “Ocean Princess”—appeared before her, Su Yun was utterly stunned.
She murmured, “Xiaotian, this... this is...?”
Ascending from the ground to the sky wasn’t something most people could accept so quickly. Le Xiaotian simply smiled. “Xiao Yun, I’ve always been low-key. These ten pieces are all my original works. To marry you, I went all out.”
The blush returned to Su Yun’s cheeks. “Xiaotian, if you keep teasing me, I’ll hit you.”
Shivering, Le Xiaotian gave an awkward smile. “Ahem, I’m a bit hungry. Shall we have lunch first?”
Though she cared for him, Su Yun was more worried about his condition. “Xiaotian, are you really alright?”
Le Xiaotian shrugged with a smile. “I’m fine, just exhausted from singing and performing. If you help me massage, I’ll recover.”
She ignored him, still in shock.
In less than twenty-four hours, there were over ten million fans commenting on Melodious Web. She couldn’t fathom how this happened.
Was this still the Le Xiaotian she’d secretly admired? When did he become so talented? His first move was ten divine songs!
Listening to the music, reading the comments, Su Yun was dazed.
Soon, she noticed Le Xiaotian’s Bean Bean ID.
After opening it, she saw messages from famous companies—Python Web, Yunlan Publishing, Big Cat Films, and others.
Their aim was the same: to choreograph, write novels, release albums, and make films from these ten songs.
Taking a deep breath, Su Yun handed the laptop back. “Many companies want to buy the rights to your music. The offers are high.”
Without even looking at the laptop, Le Xiaotian said disdainfully, “They just want to cash in quickly. But I’m setting bait. Want the rights? None of them can afford it, nor are they qualified. Just reply that negotiations will happen in the future.”
Thus, while Su Yun was still reeling in shock, Le Xiaotian managed to coax her into giving him a massage.
In the end, the matter of living together was pretty much settled.
Today, he’d already received the pre-signing text message. Next, he’d wait for the station's short message, contact the signing editor, discuss the contract, handle mailing, and so on. Therefore, updates would be limited to one chapter per day for now.
