Chapter 111: Love Above All Else
The final night before the Battle Performance and the Immortals had arrived. At 8:30 p.m., they gathered at Table 9 of the seafood restaurant’s outdoor area.
Raising their glasses of red wine, Le Xiaotian, Chen Fang, Qiu Mengyue, and Chen Zhuo toasted together.
After drinking, Chen Zhuo smiled and said, “Brother-in-law, I really have to thank you for everything you did for Mengyue and me this time. Come, let me toast you again.”
After clinking glasses, Qiu Mengyue also raised her glass. “Brother-in-law, you gave Xiao Zhuo an electronic music track; as his sister-in-law, I want one too. It wouldn’t be fair otherwise.”
Le Xiaotian laughed after drinking and said, “Alright, I’ll give you ten songs and consider it your wedding gift.”
Chen Zhuo immediately protested, “Sister, look how unfair brother-in-law is! I get one song, but Mengyue gets ten. You have to make him make it up to me.”
Chen Fang scolded playfully, “You little rascal, your brother-in-law gave you all the remix rights to his music, and you’re still not satisfied? Besides, both you and Mengyue are preparing for your weddings—why are you fussing over this?”
Chen Zhuo grinned, “Sister, you don’t understand. I have to think about our child. If it’s a daughter, we have to raise her well; she can never be without money.”
In this lighthearted exchange, Le Xiaotian composed nine more songs for Qiu Mengyue and Chen Zhuo, including full symphonic versions and arrangements for various common instruments—a comprehensive yet straightforward gift.
Watching him write the scores, the three companions fell silent.
Tomorrow was the battle, and no one knew if they would survive. Their personal matters had all been arranged by brother-in-law, who had even given them wedding gifts. This might very well be their last meeting.
Compared to Qiu Mengyue and Chen Zhuo, Chen Fang felt even more pressure. Since being with Le Xiaotian, she had undergone a rebirth—recovering her life through the show, sharing tender moments in the honeymoon suite, deeply enamored.
Yet, even though their feelings were mutual, neither had fully crossed that final threshold of intimacy. And tomorrow was the battle—a fight for life and death, terrifying and uncertain.
Not long after, Le Xiaotian sent the completed music to the two. “Xiao Zhuo, I’ve sent it to your email. You two don’t need to worry about money anymore. But just in case, you should still learn more about music.”
Though the guidance time was brief, Chen Zhuo understood that what he learned from brother-in-law was more than just snapping shots and mixing techniques; most importantly, it was a shift in mindset. “Got it, brother-in-law.”
After the meal, Chen Zhuo and Qiu Mengyue left the others to themselves, giving both parties space—and themselves a chance. These past days, their bond had been inseparable, their affection undeniable.
Once separated, Le Xiaotian and Chen Fang walked barefoot along the beach.
Looking up at the stars, feeling the sea breeze, listening to the waves, basking in the moonlight—the atmosphere was passable.
At this moment, neither spoke; they walked quietly side by side.
But all good things must end, and soon they returned to the honeymoon suite.
Skipping the bath, Le Xiaotian opened the conductor’s group chat while Chen Fang brewed coffee for him.
Opening a video, Le Xiaotian carefully reviewed the Immortals’ details for the next day.
At eleven, he closed his laptop with a smile. “Xiaofang, want to take a shower together?”
No longer shy, Chen Fang replied, “Sure.”
They closed the doors and windows, opened the ventilation, and set the air conditioning to 26 degrees—the perfect temperature. Though it was winter, their constitutions could handle it easily.
When undressing, Chen Fang shyly said, “Turn around, what are you looking at?”
Le Xiaotian, undeterred, said, “I’ve seen everything on you already; no need to be shy.”
“Get lost.”
“Ha ha.”
Laughing, Le Xiaotian stepped into the indoor hot spring in the bathroom.
Winter air was dry, and the body quickly grew thirsty. Planning to soak in the hot spring, Le Xiaotian drank three bottles of 500ml Deep Blue Ice Spring water—refreshing and invigorating.
Soon after, Chen Fang drank one bottle as well, the expensive water cool and smooth, soothing the lungs.
In the steaming, mist-shrouded water, wrapped in a white towel, Chen Fang slowly stepped in.
Le Xiaotian immediately pulled her close and kissed her deeply—French style.
Almost suffocating, they finally parted.
Chen Fang nestled in his arms as he leaned against the edge of the hot spring, his face calm, lost in thought.
After a quiet embrace, Chen Fang casually asked, “Xiaotian, will you want me tonight? I’m ready.”
What was bound to happen was coming. Le Xiaotian did not evade. “Xiaofang, given the situation, after tomorrow’s events, the Empress will target me. Even if she doesn’t kill me, I can’t stay in the country.”
Looking up, Chen Fang’s phoenix-like eyes blinked. “But Su Yun and Sun Yuzhen have already given themselves to you. I want to, too.”
Thinking of his wives, Le Xiaotian was moved, then wore a look of melancholy. “I’ve wronged them. They are my wives, yet I can only keep them hidden at home. As a friend, I advise you not to get involved with me—it wouldn’t be fair to you.”
Splash!
Chen Fang splashed water onto his chest, her face full of mock grievance. “You shameless man, I’ve let you touch every part of me. My reputation is already ruined by you. Now you’re going to deny me if I bring it up?”
Le Xiaotian wrapped an arm around her waist and smiled. “You know I’m not that kind of man. Honestly, have you thought it through? After tomorrow, I have to return home to handle some matters. The All-Star Extreme Challenge is my real goal—I want to become an extraordinary dancer.”
The competition was long and deadly, with a high mortality rate. Even Le Xiaotian couldn’t guarantee survival. More importantly, if she chose to be with him, she wouldn’t be able to live in the country for at least two years—nowhere else to go, just waiting.
Yet Chen Fang did not hesitate. She wrapped her arms around his neck, cheeks flushed. “Husband, I’ve thought it through. I can’t live without you. I’m willing to wait.”
Though reluctant to owe such a debt of affection, as Chen Fang said, he had touched every part of her and ruined her reputation. If he didn’t take responsibility, it would feel cruel.
Since she was willing, what was there to worry about? A heavy debt was no burden.
With this thought, Le Xiaotian carried Chen Fang out of the bath and they took a shower together.
Freed from all concerns, they gave themselves over completely, passionately.
From the shower to the bed, Le Xiaotian was exceptionally gentle with Chen Fang, for whom this was the first time. Though eager, he knew the importance of foreplay.
After an hour of tender closeness, the fire within Chen Fang was fully ignited. Her body became soft, supple, and tender.
Thanks to the excellent foreplay, her body had been strengthened and enhanced by the system. So when they finally united, she only let out a soft hum.
The tearing pain quickly vanished; Le Xiaotian’s breath and body grew hot, and Chen Fang felt pleasure as well.
At last, they fused completely, savoring the sublime union of body and soul.
