Chapter 98: Soaring into the Sky
At the edge of the cliff, drenched in sweat, Le Xiaotian climbed up with Chen Fang, breathing a little heavily.
“Good day, sir!” Sixteen female adjutants, their faces flushed, stood up and greeted him, noting that Le Xiaotian was now wearing only swim trunks.
My goodness, this looks like a scene destined for a military tribunal.
However, since the Empress had entrusted him with the highest command over the Blue Moon Island incident, how could he possibly be reprimanded?
The commanding officer was still a superstar—exceptionally talented and handsome. A little swim wouldn’t hurt.
Walking toward the female adjutants, Le Xiaotian picked up the bucket of water they had prepared on the ground.
Splash!
The feeling of clean, warm water pouring over his head was utterly soothing, washing away the sweat and tension.
After rinsing off another bucket, Le Xiaotian ordered, “Come over and scrub the commander’s back.”
With soft laughter, the dozen or so beautiful female adjutants began to bathe him.
Seeing this, Chen Fang felt uneasy.
Although men born into wealth and power, senior officers and the like, often had hundreds or even thousands of women surrounding them, these were invariably toxic or condemned situations. Le Xiaotian seemed to be heading down that same path.
But since she had chosen him, she had to accept his flaws. After all, even an actor in indie films could have thousands of beauties at his beck and call; Le Xiaotian, with his potential as a great director and the chance to become a terrifyingly extraordinary dancer, was on an entirely different level.
The entertainment world was chaotic; with him in it, it would only become more so.
Chen Fang sighed softly but said nothing, quietly waiting for the fighter jet to be ready.
Though enjoying the pampering of beautiful women washing him, Le Xiaotian had not yet lost his senses to indiscriminate indulgence.
When the bathing was nearly done, he said, “Turn around now, but if you want to watch, that’s fine too.”
A few female adjutants who had tried to take advantage of the chaos blushed deeply. Though aware this bordered on immorality, their restless hearts struggled to resist the temptation to reach out with sinful hands.
Fortunately, they did not cross the final line. They knew that if they gave in now, it would only be a fleeting pleasure. To truly bind their commander would require a long-lasting battle of stamina and wit.
Before long, Le Xiaotian donned a sleek, high-tech flight suit. This new uniform combined the best features of flight gear from around two thousand years of Le Ball’s history—a precautionary measure.
With Chen Fang by his side, he approached a silver supersonic fighter jet and began inspecting and testing the instruments onboard.
In this era, fighter jets were no longer cutting-edge technology; the true marvels were flying vessels.
However, due to the complexity and crew size required to operate flying vessels, Le Xiaotian opted for the fighter jet.
This Silver Dragon fighter was single-seated; if Chen Fang wanted to board, she would have to straddle him, holding tightly face-to-face.
As he buckled the seatbelt, Le Xiaotian deliberately arched his waist slightly and smiled, “How’s that? Tight enough?”
Damn him, growing bolder by the day. Chen Fang’s face flushed as she said indignantly, “If you keep teasing me, I’m getting off right now.”
Le Xiaotian chuckled silently and began checking the oxygen apparatus.
This Silver Dragon didn’t require the pilot to wear a full-face oxygen mask; once the cockpit was sealed, the cabin automatically supplied oxygen according to altitude and pressure.
Even if the fighter was damaged, the latest flight suits they wore ensured oxygen supply, not just through the respiratory tract but also through pores and blood vessels.
After a round of adjustments and cross-checks, everything was ready. This flight was crucial—it was tied to the upcoming combat exhibition “Immortal” in half a month’s time.
Starting the fighter jet, Le Xiaotian slowly taxied under the guidance of the female adjutants. The temporary steel plank runway built over the past two days was long enough.
A torrent of flames burst from the rear of the Silver Dragon as its eight engines roared with fiery power, a breathtaking display that convinced onlookers this jet was unstoppable.
Indeed, compared to flying vessels, the Silver Dragon was a mere lightweight, but among fighter jets, it was a reputable brand, widely used by many nations.
With sufficient runway for acceleration, the moment the eight engines pushed to full power, the fighter jet surged upward with a sharp roar.
“Ah!” Chen Fang couldn’t help but scream out at the instant they left the ground—the sensation was exhilarating.
Le Xiaotian calmly steered upward, beginning a circular flight around Blue Moon Island.
Whoosh!
Approaching the speed of sound, this was far more thrilling than the earlier glide, the sea parting beneath them with commanding force.
Le Xiaotian moved the control stick, gradually accelerating.
The Silver Dragon quickly drew the attention of media, tourists, military personnel, island merchants, and residents alike; excited screams erupted everywhere.
“The combat protocol forbids the use of heavy weapons by either side—what’s going on here?”
“That’s definitely Teacher Xiaotian; only he could be this bold!”
“Breaking news: Teacher Xiaotian’s press conference is tomorrow!”
“Explosive news! Teacher Xiaotian and Zhang Hao have signed a blood combat pact, and this is the jet he’s piloting!”
“Wow, using a fighter jet for a combat show—I’m really looking forward to this.”
“I wish Teacher Xiaotian would take me along to show off and fly with him.”
Amid the rising waves of voices, Le Xiaotian circled the sky, accelerating.
Screech!
A piercing sonic boom sounded, and a burst of shockwave rippled out like a peacock’s tail—a stunning spectacle.
Another burst of acceleration sent the Silver Dragon’s speed soaring even higher.
Since this airspace was currently restricted, Le Xiaotian could fly however he wished.
After circling Blue Moon Island ten times, he had gained a good command of the flight mechanics.
Glancing at the clouds beside him, he smiled at Chen Fang nestled in his arms, “Get ready, we’re about to speed up.”
Chen Fang shivered and looked up with a pleading expression, “Xiaotian, please slow down—I’m not used to this yet.”
Though she had undergone a super-evolution of her physique in yesterday’s Dance of Heaven and Earth, and had slept well, the delayed muscle soreness still lingered.
Between gliding, swimming, climbing, and now flying a fighter jet, she really couldn’t adapt all at once.
With this in mind, Le Xiaotian eased the speed, “Alright, but what’s in it for me? Without a reward, I don’t see why I should slow down.”
Stuck on this runaway ship, what else could he do but look on the bright side?
Chen Fang’s cherry lips quickly pecked his face like a little bird, shyly saying, “Better now?”
Le Xiaotian grinned mischievously, “Nope, I didn’t react properly just now; that doesn’t count. Let’s do it again—and this time, I want to find the right spot.”
