Chapter Nine: Leaving Marvel Once Again!

"That is for the best. When my time comes, it is better not to make too many ripples."

The Ancient One nodded in satisfaction and said, "After my time is up, I believe Strange will make a fine partner."

"Uh... is that necessarily true?"

Hao Yun curled his lips, finally voicing the question he had kept in his heart for a long time: "Master, even if you merge with the Dao, surely you won't completely wash your hands of Earth's affairs, right?"

"Hehe, it seems you know quite a bit."

The Ancient One stood up and walked over to the balcony. Looking up at the brilliant sky, she said with profound nostalgia, "I have lived long enough—so long that I am beginning to lose my original intent. Hao Yun, this era belongs to you. My time has already passed. If I linger any longer, I will only bring harm to the universe.

By merging with the Dao, I shall become the impartial Heavenly Dao, whose sole purpose is to maintain the functioning of the universe... If I were to retain my emotional attachment to Earth, it would only cause chaos in the laws and could even trigger the premature annihilation of the universe.

Therefore, the future of Earth must be decided by you all alone."

"Uh..."

Hao Yun stayed by the Ancient One's side in silence. To be honest, he was truly reluctant to part with this wise elder standing before him.

Unlike in the comics, the Ancient One in the films was truly entirely selfless. For thousands of years, her entire life had been dedicated to protecting Earth and preserving peace in the universe.

"Then... will I still be able to see you in the future?"

Hao Yun asked with a trace of reluctance.

"If you can reach my realm, why would that be impossible?" The Ancient One flashed a brilliant smile at him. "In my eyes, a future crisis is rapidly approaching. Hao Yun, you must elevate your strength as soon as possible. You do not have much time left."

"I will."

Hao Yun clenched his teeth, looking at the newly refreshed missions on the system screen... Aren't they just a few four-star and five-star missions? He accepted them!~

"Then go and do them. As you know, talking much is不如 (not as good as) doing much. Go on, you have your own matters to attend to."

With that, the Ancient One waved her hand, and the Mirror Dimension directly pulled Hao Yun in, leaving him no time to react whatsoever.

Hao Yun rubbed his nose. Fine, wasn't it just time to do more missions? Well, he needed to give it some serious thought: in the face of the impending Thanos, which tier of missions should he tackle?

Opening the system mission panel, the series of refreshed missions almost made his eyeballs pop out... Well, the system's star ratings must surely be scaled according to the strength he currently possessed?!

These three-star missions were comparable to the original five-star missions!~

"Xianxia and Cultivation Missions:
Three-star Mission: Travel to the Zhu Xian world, collect the five volumes of Heavenly Books, save Bi Yao, and alter the ending of Zhang Xiaofan falling into the demonic path.
Three-star Mission: Travel to the Battle Through the Heavens continent, teach Xiao Yan a lesson, and make him understand what it means to be faithful to the end and not be a scumbag.
Three-star Mission: Travel to the Douluo Continent, save Tang San's parents."

These three-star missions were all located in middle-thousand worlds... With his current strength, he could basically sweep through them effortlessly.

(The peak strength of a small-thousand world is Earth-tier, which is the peak of the Crossing Tribulation stage; the peak strength of a middle-thousand world is the peak of Mysterious Immortality, which is the peak of Father-tier; the peak strength of a great-thousand world is Quasi-Sage, with Journey to the West being a representative of such a world; the primordial worlds have no upper limit for strength, reaching as high as the Dao-tier, which is the multiverse tier, and worlds like Dragon Ball, Marvel, and Investiture of the Gods all belong to this level of worlds!~)

Missions in middle-thousand worlds, aside from farming points, seemed to do little for enhancing his actual strength...

Let's look at the technological worlds instead...

"Technological World Missions:
Three-star Mission: Travel to the Resident Evil world, save the world, and save Alice!~
Three-star Mission: Travel to the Wandering Earth world, propel Earth to the Centauri system, and find a suitable stellar orbit!
Three-star Mission: Travel to the Pacific Rim world, seal the breach of the colossal Kaiju."

The Resident Evil world could yield the T-virus, which could be used to strengthen the members of the Illuminati; Wandering Earth and Pacific Rim were not lacking in high technology either. It seemed that cultivation worlds were more about cultivating oneself, whereas technological worlds were about studying advanced technology?

As for the worlds of superpowers and anime, he no longer planned to visit them, lest taking too many items thin out the world barrier—what would happen if an invasion occurred?

Marvel was already miserable enough without attracting external entities... Just look at Dormammu, wasn't that lesson enough?

Considering the upcoming major Marvel plotline—the arrival of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War... Thanos himself wasn't particularly strong; both he and Carol Danvers could beat him to a pulp, and the Infinity Stones were safely kept... The only troublesome part was Thanos's massive army.

However, the Eastern Kunlun couldn't provide reinforcements, and Tony and the others couldn't comprehend Eastern cultivation, let alone practice it... Therefore, he had to consider making a trip to a technological world this time?

Then, thinking of Marvel's enemies, if it came to mass-produced technological weapons, where was there any world better than the Transformers universe?

Browsing through all the missions, sure enough, there was a four-star Transformers mission!~

"Four-star Mission: Travel to the world of Transformers, give the Autobots a safe home!~ Basic point reward: 100,000 points, and the purchase cost of items from the Transformers world will be reduced to one-tenth!~"

Seeing the mission requirements, Hao Yun's heart stirred... Perhaps he could find an ally for Earth?

"System, can I bring the Autobots over to the Marvel universe?!"

"Beep!~ Detected that the host has the demand for alien immigration. Now scanning the MCU universe... Scan complete. No mechanical life forms have been found in the MCU world. You can spend points to sever the original universe imprint of organisms that voluntarily immigrate to the universe. Each robot requires a cost of 100,000 points, and you must purchase the AllSpark and the Matrix of Leadership!~"

"Check the prices of the AllSpark and the Matrix of Leadership!~"

"AllSpark: Originates from the Transformers world, can independently decide to produce Autobots or Decepticons, requires 10 million points!~
Matrix of Leadership: Can upgrade civilian Transformers into leader-tier Transformers, with strength at the peak of Earth-tier, requires 10 million points!~"

A tenth of the price would be one million. With his one million savings, plus the five-star mission evaluation reward... It was enough!~ Totally worth doing!~

"Accept the four-star mission!~ Time travel point: At the beginning of the plot of Transformers 1, 2, and 3!~"

To boost the combat power of Earthlings, Hao Yun chose the Transformers mission without hesitation. As for the timeline, it would naturally be the original trilogy.

After all, in Transformers 1 and 2, it was still a cooperative relationship, and he might not necessarily persuade Optimus Prime... But by Transformers 3, humanity had truly abandoned the Autobots!~ As long as he made his move at that time, he would definitely be able to pull the Autobots into his own universe.

As for why he skipped Transformers 4 and 5? Could he say that he simply couldn't stand the new protagonists? Both the male and female leads were too ugly!~

"Mission selection successful. Please note, host: Heavens mission teleportation is about to initiate!~"
