"Hao Yun Potts, of Chinese descent, from the future."

Hao Yun smiled, shook Carol's hand, and said, "I just accidentally stepped into the wrong timeline. In the future, you are quite famous, known as the hope of the whole village!~"

"The hope of the whole village? What do you mean?"

Carol looked puzzled. Such a title was far too bizarre.

Was a mere village really worth her, Carol, coming to rescue? She was a superhero destined to save countless planets, after all.

Indeed, having recovered her memories and understood the full extent of her powers, Carol’s ego had ballooned! Quite significantly indeed!

"In the future, Earth is also called the global village. The hope of the whole village means that you are needed to save the Earth, and to save the universe."

Hao Yun explained. Upon hearing this explanation, Carol became even more bewildered. In the future, was she not on Earth?

"What happened in the future? Where did I go?"

"I am sorry, I cannot alter the future. I can only tell you that during a certain period, we will very much need your presence. As for where you went, I think you will find out soon enough."

Hao Yun shrugged and pointed at the telephone booth not far away. "You should go contact your Kree comrades. Trust me, since they tampered with your memories, they certainly won't let you go. Rather than being manipulated, why not proactively enter the game, lure them over, and wipe them all out in one fell swoop?"

"Humph!~ I will certainly teach them a lesson!~"

A bloodthirsty smile appeared on Carol's face. Having her memories altered, being taken to a foreign planet, and having her powers suppressed—to Carol, this was an insult and a trampling of her freedom.

She hated others interfering with her life, and she hated deception even more!~

"Wait for me a moment, I have many things I want to understand from you."

"Of course, I will wait for you. We are comrades fighting side by side, aren't we?"

With that, Hao Yun condensed a dense, metallic energy ball in the palm of his hand... The astonishing destructive power immediately won Carol's approval. She nodded with satisfaction and headed toward the telephone booth.

After Carol left, Hao Yun knocked on the car of a nearby security guard, used ninjutsu—genjutsu to cloud his consciousness, and lay down in the back seat to rest.

Sigh, if he weren't worried about being discovered by Nick Fury as someone from the future, he would have really liked to build a wooden house and take a proper sleep.

Now... oh well, he would just have to make do.

..................

Soon, the sky gradually brightened, the sun rose, and a new day arrived.

Carol finally contacted her Kree teammates through the telephone booth and, just like in the original story, revealed her location.

After Carol finished her call, Hao Yun walked up to her, raised his chin, and pointed at the approaching police cars with wailing sirens in the distance.

"Look, the agents who should be here have arrived."

"Ha, these are all minor issues, aren't they?"

Carol smiled quite recklessly; no, rather, she didn't care about the arriving agents at all.

As an operative capable of independent combat for the Kree, ordinary planets were no match for her. What's more, she had already evolved.

"Knock knock, hello, you two."

A young, not-yet-bald Black man tapped on the glass beside them to signal his presence.

"Did either of you see a lady fall from the sky and smash a huge hole in the Blockbuster Video over there? Some say she was dressed like a video game character. Also, there's a man whose identity can't be found anywhere, acting like some kind of illegal immigrant?"

Carol and Hao Yun exchanged glances. Ha, was this getting slapped in the face right in front of the parties involved?

Carol actually felt in the mood to tease the agent from her old hometown. "Oh, they probably went that way."

With that, she grabbed Hao Yun and made to leave.

Young Nick Fury’s face turned dark, though it was hard to tell just how dark he could get...

"Wait, I have a few more questions to ask you!~"

As he spoke, he took out his identification, revealing the eagle-head logo of S.H.I.E.L.D., and said playfully, "Actually, to return a tape, you can just drop it in the box."

Then, his expression shifted, turning solemn.

"Please present your identification documents, both of you."

"Carol Danvers, Earth native, special forces pilot, currently a member of the Kree Starforce."

"Stephen Chow, Earth native, unemployed vagrant, currently serving as the Starforce tour guide."

Their answers made Nick Fury's face crack!~

What on earth is an Earth native? Can you narrow down the scope a bit?! And Starforce—one's a member and the other's a tour guide, are you two playing with me? You must be, right?!

"Starforce, is it? Tour guide, is it? Can you tell me how long you plan on staying here?"

Nick Fury was full of disbelief, convinced these were just two illegal immigrants!~ Although he didn't know why one was of Chinese descent and the other was white, an agent's intuition prevented him from letting them just walk away.

While Danvers was still rambling nonsense in response to Nick Fury's questions, Hao Yun suddenly frowned as he sensed danger approaching!

Turning his head toward the direction of the danger... a flash of reflected light from a mirror swept across them!~

Damn it, someone was aiming at them with a sniper-like rifle!~

"Watch out!~"

Hao Yun stepped forward, shielding Danvers and Fury. Raising his hands, the laws of earth manipulation automatically activated, forming a thick earth shield that abruptly blocked the sudden gunfire!~

"Bang!~"

The shield shattered, exposing Hao Yun, Danvers, and Fury. At the same time, the gazes of the two landed on the Skrull lying prone in the distance!~

"Damn Skrulls!~"

Danvers cursed angrily, squatting down as energy cannons fired simultaneously from both her hands!~

"Boom!~"

The high platform where the sniper was located was blown to pieces, but the target emerged unscathed and bolted upright, running away.

"Stephen Chow, let's go, after them!~"

In the nick of time, Carol still remembered the name Hao Yun had deliberately altered, grabbed him to pursue, and prepared to kick off a battle of subway thrills.

Hao Yun didn't mind; at worst, he'd just play the role of a melon-eating spectator... Anyway, he was just here to slack off through the Captain Marvel plotline.

Seeing the two of them leave, Nick Fury couldn't help cursing "fuck" and drove off with his partner agent in the direction the subway was heading.

After losing them in the chase, Hao Yun proactively opened a portal, bringing Carol to the location where her friend lived.

"Well, that trick of yours is impressive. You'd make a great tour guide."

Carol looked at her friend and her child repairing a plane in the distance and praised Hao Yun.

Hao Yun shrugged. It was better to accelerate the plot; he had no mood to waste time in this era.

"Maria Rambeau!~"

"Carol?! Where have you been!~"

The two best friends embraced and wept bitterly. Hao Yun shrugged, his gaze shifting to the orange cat that had suddenly appeared nearby... Wait, could this be, Goose?!
