Extra Chapter One: The Iconic Confrontation Between Feng Mo and Lu Yuxiu
Page 1/3
Meanwhile, Feng Mo escorted Lu Yuxiu to Solomon’s specialized training room, fully equipped with every imaginable device.
“Boss.” The trainees practicing inside stood up promptly and bowed respectfully upon seeing Feng Mo.
“Everyone out. Order a rest day today.” Feng Mo’s voice was low and firm, betraying no emotion.
“Yes, sir!”
Soon, the training ground fell silent, even the corridor outside was deserted.
This was the greatest difference between Solomon and the “L” headquarters. Both were disciplined and strictly followed orders, but at “L” headquarters, the young men were spirited and lively. Neither was superior, just managed differently.
At “L” headquarters, those kids would surely be excitedly peeking at the door, unwilling to miss the fierce battle unfolding.
Feng Mo slowly turned and locked eyes with Lu Yuxiu.
“Well? Do you have the courage to show me what you’ve got?” He enunciated each word clearly, his voice chillingly clear as if immersed in icy water.
Lu Yuxiu naturally could not refuse. His expression calm, he cupped his hands respectfully. “It’s my honor to comply.”
Before the words left his mouth, Feng Mo launched a rapid attack, fist wind howling. Lu Yuxiu instantly dodged left, countering with his right hand, sending waves of force that seemed to tear the air apart.
At first, they probed each other’s skills, but as they gauged one another, their attacks became relentless, each move sharp, lethal, the tension palpable.
The clash of fists and feet echoed continuously with muffled thuds. Their movements were so swift and imposing, nearly impossible for the naked eye to follow, the air itself humming under the pressure. Yet, after more than a dozen rounds, they remained evenly matched, stalemated.
They exchanged a glance. Lu Yuxiu caught a flicker of surprise in Feng Mo’s eyes. Both simultaneously ceased their attacks, stepped back, planting their feet firmly, harboring a newfound respect for each other.
“Not bad.” Feng Mo smiled faintly, a rare softness in his voice, stretching the final syllable with a lazy, half-smile. “Haven’t faced a worthy opponent in years.”
“The honor is mine.” Lu Yuxiu’s gaze was open and steady, neither humble nor arrogant.
Feng Mo’s tone softened as he reined in his smile. “Take good care of my sister. You may go.”
Lu Yuxiu was indeed reliable.
Nodding, he turned and left, exhaling deeply inside. Lin Xi was finally his, and no one would stand in his way anymore.

...
After seeing off Feng Mo and Lu Yuxiu, Lin Xi returned to a room on the fourth floor. The security camera scanned her identity, and the door immediately opened.
Inside was a hidden world, the decor starkly black and white, exuding a cold, severe atmosphere—perfectly matching Lin Xi’s current temperament.
“Miss Xi, welcome back.” A respectful voice greeted her.
“Hm. Send Casey to see me.” Lin Xi’s voice was cool and expressionless.
“Please wait, I’ll arrange it immediately.” A figure quickly exited the room.
“Xi, you’re finally back! I missed you so much.” Casey rushed over and embraced her.
Casey was dressed in a sleek black dress, revealing long, slender legs, clad in high heels. Her golden curls cascaded over her shoulders, radiating a commanding presence.
Lin Xi returned the hug warmly. “You’ve worked hard while I was away.”
“No, but I was really scared when you went after Wen Yiming on your own. Don’t do that again.” Casey’s tone carried a hint of grievance.
“I know. I won’t trouble you anymore. Tell me about Tang Xin—why did she betray the organization?” Lin Xi asked, wanting to understand the truth before resorting to killing.
“Yes, I’ve looked into it. It’s complicated. Tang Xin’s father died under Solomon’s command due to incompetence. Tang Xin hated Solomon deeply, blaming us for her family’s ruin. She then joined the Cang Yan faction, raised from childhood as a planted spy—they sent her to monitor you from the start.” Casey explained.
Lin Xi nodded slowly, realizing her subordinate was not traitorous by choice. “I see. So she never truly betrayed us; she was never one of us to begin with.”
“Exactly. Thankfully, the boss discovered it early, or the consequences would have been dire.” Casey curled her lips. “She was actually taken in by you back then. Who would have guessed she had such deep ties to Solomon?”
“Where is she now?” Lin Xi asked.
“Locked in a dark chamber.”
“Let’s go.” Casey led the way. After a short walk, they arrived at a sealed space filled with black pipes leading in various directions.
Casey pushed open a hidden door, releasing a chilling aura. Inside, a pale-faced woman curled up in a corner, hugging herself.
Lin Xi stepped forward and looked down at her. “It’s been so long. Are you alright?”

Hearing the voice, the woman trembled, raising her head to see a face both familiar and distant.
“Mistress Xi…” she whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks, her voice choked with emotion.
Her name was Tang Xin, a seventh-ranked senior member of the Cang Yan faction. Once an ordinary person, she had blindly believed the Cang Yan’s lies, convinced her father died unjustly, and vowed to avenge him as a spy. She had survived countless near-death experiences, only to learn it was all a terrible misunderstanding. What then had all her years of perseverance been for?
“I don’t know! I don’t know! I thought my father was killed by Solomon, but it was a huge joke.” Tang Xin’s eyes brimmed with regret and unbearable pain.
“This was a misunderstanding. I’ve already investigated it thoroughly.” Lin Xi sighed, unsure of what to say.
“Mistress, please kill me! Your clan treated my father like family, yet I believed slander and repaid kindness with betrayal!” Tang Xin resolved. Since being taken in by Lin Xi’s clan, she had never suffered, but still...
“Tang Xin, that’s wrong. No matter what, avenging your father was justified. It was I who brought you back. Your life belongs to Solomon now. Continue to be our Tang Xin, and don’t live in hatred anymore.” Lin Xi comforted her.
Tang Xin was stunned, warmth rising in her heart. Lin Xi’s kindness was genuine.
“Tang Xin, loyal unto death to Solomon.” Tang Xin nodded blankly.
Lin Xi and Casey walked slowly away.
Casey noticed Lin Xi’s unusual mood. “Xi, what’s wrong? This treatment isn’t like you. Has your temperament changed after this outing?”
Lin Xi lowered her gaze, a faint smile touching her lips. “Nothing. Just some feelings stirred. Children would go to such lengths for their parents. It’s something I’ve never truly understood.”
Perhaps her serious illness and loss of memories before age twelve was a form of self-protection, but also a regret.
She thought of her parents, who had lost their lives protecting her. The most profound, unspeakable emotion in the world was bloodline and family love. Unfortunately, she could never truly experience it again.
“Xi...” Casey placed a hand on her shoulder, unsure how to console her.
Lin Xi turned and smiled at her. “I’m fine. After all, I still have you. Let’s go.”
