Chapter 130: Meeting Big Brother (Revised)
On the first day in Country Y, the two of them stayed overnight at the headquarters of the L company. The weather here had a great temperature difference between morning and evening; one could wear short sleeves during the day but would need a trench coat by nightfall.
The next day, Lu Yuxiu accompanied Lin Xi to meet the legendary "Big Brother" Feng Mo.
From the moment Lu Yuxiu stepped through the Feng family gate, he was taken aback. Before him lay an ancient, elegant courtyard, filled with blooming flowers and lush trees, a scene of serene beauty that seemed like a secluded paradise untouched by worldly concerns. Outside the courtyard hung a plaque inscribed with "Feng Family."
Maintaining such a strong traditional aesthetic in Country Y was truly an ingenious choice.
Lu Yuxiu and Lin Xi arrived at the gatehouse, where two orderly lines of people stood. Upon seeing Lin Xi’s face, they all called out in unison, “Miss Xi,” and allowed them through immediately.
Walking further inside was even more breathtaking: on one side stood a palace-style ancient building, while on the other was a modern high-rise villa. Between the two buildings was a path leading deeper inside to a small estate. Lin Xi led Lu Yuxiu all the way to an exquisitely luxurious and magnificent hall.
Inside the hall stood several maids dressed uniformly, arranging food and greeting Lin Xi with respect and smiles: “Miss Xi.”
Lin Xi nodded slightly, smiling as she asked, “Where is Big Brother?”
“Miss Xi, he’s in the study.”
Lu Yuxiu and Lin Xi headed toward the study and opened the door to find a man seated, leafing through some documents.
He had sharply defined and profound features, with narrow, long brows and eyes that exuded an intense sharpness. His lips were tightly pressed into a graceful curve. His black eyes were deep and fathomless like twin dark pools, intimidating to behold.
Dressed in a low-key yet luxurious black suit, he looked like a noble aristocrat, his extraordinary aura radiating an irresistible charm mingled with a daunting and dangerous presence.
This man was none other than Feng Mo, Lin Xi’s elder brother.
Lin Xi entered the study, her gaze resting on Feng Mo. Seeing his serious expression, a faint smile appeared in her eyes.
Feng Mo looked up, a slight smile playing at the corners of his mouth, his eyes teasing: “Little Xi, you finally decided to come back. How was your trip abroad?”
Lin Xi nodded gently and approached him. “It was quite fun.”
“That’s good. I heard from our second brother that you’ve already entered the entertainment industry. I thought you wouldn’t come back.” Feng Mo said calmly.
“Hehe...” Lin Xi smiled, glancing at Feng Mo. “This time I came back for promotional work.”
Feng Mo glanced sideways at her.
Lin Xi felt a bit guilty under his gaze, clearing her throat twice before saying, “Big Brother, of course, I also came back because I missed you. By the way, this is…”
“Lu Yuxiu?” Feng Mo leaned back lazily in his chair, hands loosely crossed on his knees, his gaze calm as he looked at him. His voice was faint, carrying a chilly edge. “I heard from Yan Xu that our little princess is growing up and even dating.”
Lin Xi’s cheeks flushed slightly, shy yet filled with sweetness. She knew Feng Mo truly cared for her, hence he introduced them directly.
Feng Mo sipped his coffee and said sternly, “I know about your relationship. It’s quite a coincidence, and you’ve made many sacrifices for Little Xi.”
Then, shifting his tone, calm and unruffled but laced with hidden menace, he added, “However, you still need to be evaluated by me.”
Lu Yuxiu’s expression remained calm as he smiled gently. “Brother Feng, you flatter me. I’m always ready.”
“Pfft...” Lin Xi almost burst out laughing. These two together were truly amusing.
Feng Mo glanced at her and said to Lu Yuxiu, “Alright, you can leave for now. Wait outside. I need to have a word with Little Xi first.”
Lu Yuxiu nodded and turned to leave the study.
Once the door closed behind him, Lin Xi leaned toward Feng Mo, looping her arm through his, and immediately broke the formal mood. “Big Brother, what are you doing? This is so strange.”
Big Brother was someone who kept work and life strictly separate. Only at Solomon or in front of outsiders did he become cold and inscrutable, establishing authority with an icy demeanor.
At home, however, he was always relaxed and comfortable. The moment she entered, she sensed something was off—he was wearing a suit! That meant he had been acting since the moment they stepped inside.
Feng Mo’s frosty face softened into a smile as he affectionately teased her nose. “Little girl, it’s all for you!”
“Oh, we’re doing just fine!” Lin Xi laughed openly.
“Really?” Feng Mo’s lips curled into a meaningful smile, his eyes sparkling with mischief as they rested on Lin Xi.
Her cheeks flushed bright red from the teasing.
“Are you really sure? Is he the one you want to spend your life with?” Feng Mo suddenly grew serious, his gaze sharp and piercing, radiating a fierce aura.
Lin Xi didn’t hesitate for a moment; her eyes were unwavering. “Yes, I’ve made up my mind!”
“Ha!” Feng Mo instantly relaxed and smiled, a glint of blessing in his eyes. “Then Big Brother wishes you happiness!”
Lin Xi and Feng Mo shared a smile.
Years ago, when she wanted to join Solomon, Big Brother had asked her the same solemn question.
“Well then, don’t make things hard for him later, okay?” Lin Xi grabbed Feng Mo’s suit sleeve and shook it playfully.
Feng Mo shook his head helplessly. “You little girl, not even married yet and already speaking up for him. I’ve spoiled you for so many years for nothing.”
“That’s not true. I’m going to handle Tang Xin’s matter now,” Lin Xi said seriously.
“Good. Let Casey explain all the details to you. Don’t take matters into your own hands.” He gave her a warning.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be as flustered as before.” Lin Xi raised an eyebrow and smiled.
She had always had a cheerful relationship with Big Brother, who respected all her choices. Unlike with the fourth brother, whom she often argued with.
Lin Xi stepped out of the room and noticed that Lu Yuxiu hadn’t left. He was standing in the corridor, gazing out the window.
The small estate beyond was even more picturesque, with vast lawns and flower fields visible through the window. At the center was a fountain, surrounded by greenery—a truly nurturing place.
“Xiu.” His hand slipped into his pocket, his tall, straight figure and sharply chiseled profile framed by the light.
Turning around, his deep eyes showed a hint of lazy ease as he looked at her. A handsome curve lifted the corner of his mouth. “How was it? Finished talking?”
“Yeah.” Lin Xi clasped her hands behind her back and stepped toward him, nestling into his embrace.
He naturally wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her forehead.
Lin Xi looked up at him. “Aren’t you curious about what my brother said? So calm?”
He smoothed her long hair and fixed his gaze on her. “There won’t be any problems.”
Lin Xi felt more confused. “You’re sure? How do you know my brother would…”
His lips twitched. “Because he’s your family.”
Warmth filled Lin Xi’s heart. She knew they were the ones who loved her most and only wished for her happiness.
“So you don’t have to be nervous later. My brother cares for me dearly and definitely won’t make things hard for you.” Lin Xi gave a worried reminder.
“Don’t worry.” Lu Yuxiu comforted her instead.
Just then, Feng Mo opened the door and stepped out, casting a cold glance at the two of them cozily entwined. His voice was chilly. “Lu Yuxiu, come with me. Little Xi, go handle your own business.”
“Okay.” Lu Yuxiu patted the back of Lin Xi’s head and followed Feng Mo.
