Chapter 84: The Celestial Wind Pavilion
Qin Feng could see her hesitation. “Don’t worry. I’m not like Wang Teng, all talk and no action. I have plenty of ways to deal with him, and that so-called Wang family as well!” He paused, a confident smile curling at his lips. “Do you trust me?”
Bai Ruoxi lifted her head, her gaze burning as she stared at Qin Feng, as if trying to see into his soul. After a few seconds, she nodded lightly. “I trust you.”
“That’s more like it!” Qin Feng snapped his fingers. “Come on, let’s go check on the old man.”
…
The two of them entered Old Bai’s hospital room. He was awake, though his face still looked pale.
“Grandpa, how are you feeling?” Bai Ruoxi sat by the bed, concern in her voice.
“Ah, just the usual trouble. It’s nothing,” Old Bai waved his hand dismissively. When his cloudy eyes fell on Qin Feng, a spark of light flickered within. “I heard you saved me. What’s your name?”
“Grandpa Bai, you can just call me Feng,” Qin Feng hurried forward. “Ruoxi and I are friends.”
Old Bai sized him up. This young man was handsome and carried himself with an air of confidence—certainly not someone ordinary.
“Feng, I owe you my life this time!” Old Bai sighed. “I’m just an old man with little to offer, but if you ever need help, don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll stake my life to help you.”
“Grandpa Bai, you’re too kind. Helping those in need is simply what one should do.” Qin Feng replied modestly, though he thought to himself that the old man had a way with words. Clearly, the head of the Bai family wasn’t chosen by accident.
“Feng, you haven’t eaten yet, have you? Stay and share a meal with us,” Old Bai invited warmly.
“No, no, I have things to attend to. I’ll be going,” Qin Feng declined. He still needed to discuss cooperation with Yang Tianchen and Jiang Yuechan.
“Wait…” Old Bai wanted to persuade further, but Bai Ruoxi gently stopped him. “Grandpa, don’t trouble Qin Feng. He really does have something to do.”
“Well then,” Old Bai sighed, resigned. “Feng, next time you must come to our home for dinner!”
“Of course, next time,” Qin Feng promised with a smile before turning to leave the room.
Watching Qin Feng’s departing figure, Bai Ruoxi’s eyes showed a complicated emotion.
“Ruoxi, have you taken a liking to that boy?” Old Bai suddenly asked, a teasing tone in his voice.
“Grandpa! What are you saying?” Bai Ruoxi’s cheeks flushed, her voice playful and shy.
“Haha, I’m experienced, and I can see that boy has feelings for you.” Old Bai laughed.
“Grandpa!” Bai Ruoxi stomped her foot and ran out of the room.
“That girl…” Old Bai shook his head, watching her go. “A grown daughter can’t be kept at home!”
…
Leaving the hospital, Qin Feng didn’t rush to find Jiang Yuechan.
Though he acted unconcerned, he was somewhat worried about the Bai family. The Wang family was no pushover. If they found out Bai Ruoxi broke off the engagement, they would surely retaliate against the Bai family.
At that point, with his current strength, it would be difficult to protect them.
“It seems I need to strengthen myself as soon as possible!” Qin Feng clenched his fists, determination flashing in his eyes.
Just then, his phone rang.
“Hello, who’s this?”
“Qin Feng, it’s me, Wang Teng!” Wang Teng’s cold voice came from the other end. “You’ve got guts, daring to steal my woman. Just you wait—I won’t let you off!”
“Oh? Is that so? I’ll be waiting.” Qin Feng sneered, “But I advise you not to provoke me, or you’ll have to bear the consequences.”
“Hmph! Don’t try to scare me! Who do you think you are? Just a penniless nobody!” Wang Teng scoffed. “I’ve already investigated you. No power, no influence. Crushing you would be as easy as squashing an ant!”
“Is that so?” A chill glinted in Qin Feng’s eyes. “Let’s see if you have the skill to do it.”
With that, he hung up.
“Wang Teng, you’re playing with fire!” A murderous gleam appeared in Qin Feng’s eyes.
He hadn’t wanted to stoop to Wang Teng’s level, but Wang Teng dared investigate his background and threaten him—that crossed the line!
“If you want to play, I’ll play along!” Qin Feng’s lips twisted into a cold smile, a cunning light in his eyes.
He resolved to teach Wang Teng a lesson he’d never forget.
He took out his phone and dialed a number. “Hello, Tiger, I need you to look into something for me…”
On the other side, Wang Teng hung up, his face twisted with rage.
“Just you wait! Dare to compete with me for a woman, I’ll make you regret ever being born!” He smashed the wine glass in his hand to the floor, shards flying everywhere.
“Young master, calm down. It’s not worth getting angry over people like him,” a scantily clad woman sidled up, her voice sweet as she tried to comfort him.
Wang Teng pulled her into his arms, a vicious glint in his eyes. “Hmph, dare to provoke me? I’ll show him what money can buy!”
…
The next day, Qin Feng arrived at a teahouse as agreed.
As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Yang Tianchen and Jiang Yuechan already seated.
“Brother Qin, you’re finally here!” Yang Tianchen stood up, greeting him warmly.
“Sorry, traffic was a bit heavy,” Qin Feng replied.
After a few pleasantries, they got down to business.
“Brother Qin, I’ve discussed the cooperation with Yuechan, and we both admire your vision and abilities,” Yang Tianchen said. “We’ve decided to join forces and establish an antique business, to be called ‘Tianfeng Pavilion’!”
“Tianfeng Pavilion?” Qin Feng was momentarily surprised, then understood Yang Tianchen’s intention.
“Tianfeng”—‘Tian’ from Yang Tianchen, ‘Feng’ from Qin Feng.
“A fine name!” Qin Feng praised. “Let’s call it Tianfeng Pavilion.”
“Haha, excellent! I like your straightforwardness, Brother Qin!” Yang Tianchen laughed heartily.
They chatted for a while longer, then focused on the details.
Yang Tianchen produced a contract he had prepared in advance, handing it to Qin Feng. “Brother Qin, this contract outlines our initial plan.”
“Tianchen, there’s no need for formality between us—just call me by my name,” Qin Feng waved his hand with a smile. “As for the specifics, let’s go through them carefully.”
Half an hour later, Qin Feng and Yang Tianchen finalized the details of their cooperation.
The contract’s content was largely unchanged, except that Qin Feng would hold seventy percent of the shares, while Yang Tianchen held thirty percent.
