Very soon, Qin Feng calmed his excitement. He knew that with the inheritance he had received, four million was only the beginning! On the spot, Qin Feng transferred one million to the hospital account where his mother was staying. With this money, his mother could finally have her surgery!

“Qin Feng, you bastard! That’s my money! Transfer it back to me!” Huang Dachuan could no longer sit still and lunged straight at Qin Feng.

Qin Feng gave a cold snort. Did Huang Dachuan still think he was weak and easy to bully?

With a swift sidestep, Qin Feng dodged.

Bang!

Huang Dachuan fell flat on his face in a most humiliating manner.

“This is the receipt. It already belongs to me. Take a good look!” Qin Feng waved the receipt in his hand.

Huang Dachuan was even angrier now, his eyes filled with hatred as he glared at Qin Feng.

Naturally, Qin Feng paid him no mind and turned to leave.

Lin Wanting and Chen Songbai, having watched the whole farce, exchanged a glance and followed him out the door.

“Mr. Qin, I have a favor to ask. I still have two more appraisal appointments this afternoon. Would you be willing to help me? Don’t worry, I won’t let you work for nothing. I can pay you two hundred thousand per appraisal. What do you think?” Lin Wanting asked as she approached Qin Feng.

Two hundred thousand!

Money that used to be so hard to earn was now coming to him with such ease!

Qin Feng was filled with emotion. After a moment’s thought, he nodded in agreement. First, Lin Wanting had stayed in the shop to help him put Huang Dachuan in his place, and she had offered him double the usual rate, which was a kindness. Second, Lin Wanting was no ordinary person, and he was keen to make her acquaintance.

The three of them got into the car—Lin Wanting sat in the front passenger seat, while Qin Feng and Chen Songbai sat in the back.

Not long after they set off, Lin Wanting’s phone rang. She spoke briefly, hung up, and her face turned icy cold.

“Take us to Jade Pavilion!” she told the driver. Then, turning to Qin Feng with an apologetic look in her beautiful eyes, she said, “Mr. Qin, I’m sorry, but something has happened at my family’s Jade Pavilion that I must tend to. If you don’t wish to go, I can have the driver take you wherever you’d like.”

Jade Pavilion?

Qin Feng was not unfamiliar with the name. It was the largest stone-gambling venue in Jianghai City, a favorite haunt of the wealthy! In the past, he wouldn’t have dared even to think of entering such a place, let alone actually go. But now things were different. With his newly acquired clairvoyant vision, he would be in his element there!

“No matter. Let’s go and have a look,” Qin Feng replied calmly.

Outwardly, he remained unruffled, but inwardly he began to speculate about Lin Wanting’s identity. For her to refer to such a massive establishment as her family’s business, she had to be someone of considerable power!

The truth was, Qin Feng knew little of the upper echelons of Jianghai City. Otherwise, had he recognized Lin Wanting’s face, he would have guessed who she was immediately.

But no matter how noble Lin Wanting’s status, Qin Feng’s heart remained unmoved. From the moment he received the inheritance, he knew he needed no status, no family background; he, alone, would be a scion of wealth—a man who would never need to bow to anyone.

Over half an hour later, the car stopped.

Before them stood an imposing building, magnificent in its grandeur, with the words “Jade Pavilion” displayed above.

Qin Feng was momentarily stunned. He had heard of such places before but had never seen one. Now, seeing it with his own eyes, he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. But soon, he regained his composure.

“Mr. Qin, you may look around as you please. I need to handle some matters and will come find you when I’m done,” Lin Wanting said anxiously.

Qin Feng nodded. That suited him perfectly; he wanted to explore alone.

Lin Wanting and Chen Songbai left first, while Qin Feng followed and entered the Jade Pavilion.

Inside, the hall was filled with well-dressed people. Some wandered before gray stones, others waited nervously at the stone-cutting machines, and from time to time, shouts of excitement rang out. The atmosphere was lively and intense.

Qin Feng walked up to the display cases holding the gray stones, nodding to himself—these must be the raw stones. He activated his clairvoyant sight, and one by one, the stones became transparent before his eyes; he could see everything inside clearly.

He found it!

Suddenly, his eyes lit up and he was about to head toward his target.

“Qin Feng, you’re actually awake? Looks like our darling here went too easy on you!” came a mocking voice.

“You know where you are? Do you really belong here?”

Qin Feng paused. He immediately recognized the voice—it was his so-called good friend, Li Pengcheng!

Li Pengcheng approached, his arm around Shen Fei’s waist, his expression arrogant.

“You shameless pair!” Qin Feng seethed with anger. If this weren’t a public place, he would have charged at them already.

“Qin Feng, are you following me here?” Shen Fei sneered, full of contempt. “I’ve already told you, I’m not interested in a loser like you. Stop pestering me!”

She believed that Qin Feng had come to bother her after catching them together that morning, thinking he must be full of regret now. After all, with someone as outstanding as her, he’d never find another.

Qin Feng was here just to pester her—at least, that’s what she thought. If Qin Feng knew her shameless thoughts, he’d probably want to slap her then and there!

“I came here for reasons that have nothing to do with you two,” Qin Feng replied indifferently, turning to leave.

“Hey, buddy, what are you doing here then? Don’t tell me you’re here to gamble on stones?” Li Pengcheng blocked his way, deliberately raising his voice to draw attention.

Sure enough, people nearby focused their gaze on Qin Feng.

“Look at those shabby clothes—he dares to gamble on stones?”

“What’s going on with Jade Pavilion? How does a pauper get in here?”

“Hmph! Probably dreaming of getting rich overnight!”

The voices around him were harsh and mocking.

But Qin Feng’s heart was calm. “If I have the money or not, you’ll see when I buy. If I can’t pay, the staff here will deal with it,” he said.

“Oh? So you really are here to gamble on stones?” Li Pengcheng’s tone was full of sarcasm. “Do you know anything about this? I mean, let’s be honest, you don’t have much money left—don’t lose it all at once!”

Shen Fei, with her usual arrogance, chimed in, “He’s not here for stones—he’s here to bother me! Qin Feng, give up. I’ll never betray Pengcheng!”

Qin Feng could not even be bothered to reply to her. He looked at Li Pengcheng and asked calmly, “Oh? So you’re saying you know a lot about stone gambling?”

Hearing Qin Feng’s calm tone, Li Pengcheng felt a sudden, inexplicable unease, but quickly dismissed it. After all, Qin Feng was just a loser—it had to be his imagination.

“I won’t say I’m an expert, but I know more than you,” Li Pengcheng replied.

Hearing the answer he wanted, Qin Feng’s lips curled into a smile. “In that case, why don’t we have a little wager?”
