Chapter 43: The Liu Family’s Show of Force
Inside the Liu family compound.
“Dad, that little bastard actually dared to attack me in front of so many people!”
“I want him dead! He must die!”
“Yuanhang, calm down,” Liu Jun said in a low, stern voice. “Rashness will only ruin things. Qin Feng isn’t easy to deal with, but he’s not invincible.”
“Plan? What plan?” Liu Yuanhang almost roared, his voice thick with resentment and unwillingness.
But facing his own father, he dared not argue further.
A cold sneer appeared on Liu Jun’s face, a ruthless glint flickering in his eyes. “Don’t worry, I have my own arrangements. But before that, we need to handle the Wen family’s matter. Wen Shao’s death must not become a burden for the Liu family.”
“Go contact our people in the capital. Tell them Wen Bin was killed by Qin Feng. The evidence is irrefutable.”
A vicious light flashed in Liu Yuanhang’s eyes as he nodded. “Alright, I’ll take care of it right away.”
…
Meanwhile, inside Jade Pavilion, Qin Feng was fully absorbed in carving a piece of raw jade.
Li Jingya stood nearby, watching him with eyes full of admiration and curiosity.
Qin Feng’s hands seemed almost magical. Ordinary-looking stones gradually transformed into exquisite works of art under his skilled touch.
“Qin Feng, you’re amazing!” Li Jingya couldn’t help but exclaim. “I’ve never seen such incredible craftsmanship.”
Qin Feng smiled gently, set aside his tools, and turned to her. “It’s nothing, really. Mastery comes with practice. If you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll be able to do the same someday.”
Li Jingya’s eyes lit up with determination. “Really? Then I’ll definitely learn from you in the future.”
Qin Feng nodded with a smile and returned to his work.
Li Jingya watched closely, occasionally asking questions, which Qin Feng answered patiently, one by one.
Time slipped by quietly as they talked, and before long, evening fell.
Qin Feng glanced out the window at the darkening sky and said to Li Jingya, “It’s getting late. Let me walk you home.”
Li Jingya nodded a little reluctantly. “Alright, I’ll come see you another day then.”
Qin Feng agreed with a smile, and the two of them left Jade Pavilion together.
After escorting Li Jingya home, Qin Feng drove back to his own place.
…
The next morning, Qin Feng rose early as usual, preparing to head to Jade Pavilion.
He had barely stepped outside when a powerful sense of unease swept over him.
He paused, scanning his surroundings, but found nothing unusual.
“Am I being paranoid?” he murmured to himself.
Yet the feeling only intensified, forcing him to stay alert.
Just then, a black sedan suddenly sped out from the roadside, aiming directly for him.
Qin Feng’s pupils contracted. In a flash, he sprang backward, his right foot slamming into the ground, launching himself away like an arrow.
Bang!
With a thunderous crash, the sedan smashed into the spot where he had stood, gouging a deep crater in the pavement.
The driver’s eyes glinted with malice. He quickly swung the car around and charged at Qin Feng again.
Qin Feng’s heart tightened. Without hesitation, he leapt several meters to the side, dodging the car’s renewed assault.
“Damn, can’t even wait, can you?” He didn’t need to guess; it was obvious the Liu family had sent someone to teach him a lesson—likely Liu Yuanhang himself.
Since the Liu family was so eager for his demise, he would never sit back and wait for death.
“If you insist on being so ruthless, then let’s settle all our old and new scores at once!”
Qin Feng narrowed his eyes, a murderous gleam flickering within them.
In a blur, he vanished from sight, reappearing in front of the car the next instant.
The sedan roared forward, accelerating wildly toward him.
Qin Feng scoffed, pushing off with his left leg, soaring into the air before delivering a fierce kick to the windshield.
Instantly, the car spun out of control, veering sideways and crashing heavily onto the street.
Boom!
The sedan slammed into the pavement and exploded in a burst of flame.
Qin Feng surveyed the scene with cold indifference before striding away, leaving chaos in his wake.
…
When Qin Feng arrived at Jade Pavilion, he found the staff busy unloading goods.
These were the stones purchased earlier from Myanmar, including some he had acquired himself.
“Brother Feng, you’re here!” Zhang Hu, who was overseeing the unloading, spotted Qin Feng and hurried over to greet him.
Qin Feng nodded, his gaze drifting over the piles of newly arrived stones.
He silently calculated how best to turn these high-quality raw stones into real profit.
“You go ahead with your work. I’ll discuss the next steps with Wanting.”
With that, Qin Feng headed straight for Lin Wanting’s office.
As he pushed open the door, a light jasmine fragrance greeted him, a stark contrast to the hubbub outside.
Lin Wanting was bent over a stack of documents, sunlight filtering through half-open curtains and bathing her focused face in a gentle, serene glow.
“Wanting, I’m here,” Qin Feng said softly, careful not to disturb her work.
Lin Wanting looked up, and when she saw him, an involuntary smile curved her lips. “Feng, you’re just in time. I was about to discuss something with you.”
Qin Feng pulled up a chair and sat down by her desk. “Looks like we’re of one mind. How do you plan to handle this batch of new stones?”
Her eyes brightened. “Great idea! This way, not only can we quickly recover our capital, but we can also boost Jade Pavilion’s brand reputation.”
“Exactly. I’ve already begun preparing a publicity campaign, planning to build hype on social media and online platforms. I’ll also invite some renowned collectors and industry figures to guarantee the auction’s success,” Lin Wanting explained, her plan clear and well-organized.
Qin Feng nodded in agreement. “I’ll take care of selecting the stones then.”
“But the Liu family is also organizing an auction, though it seems to be tied to a charity dinner.”
At this, Lin Wanting’s brows furrowed with concern. “What’s your plan? Do you need my help?”
Qin Feng smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. Just focus on preparing the auction. Leave the rest to me.”
