Soon, the two of them organized all the documents and, leaving the hotel, headed straight for the partner company. After signing the contract at the company, they negotiated once more with the organizers before taking a private jet from the airport back to Daxia.

On the plane, Qin Feng and Lin Wanting sat quietly side by side, resting in their seats, neither saying a word. Once the plane had ascended smoothly, they slowly opened their eyes, gazing at the rapidly receding scenery beyond the window, their hearts growing ever more tranquil.

Suddenly, Lin Wanting looked at Qin Feng, a flicker in her eyes. After hesitating for a moment, she finally asked, “Qin Feng, may I ask you something?”

Qin Feng glanced at her in puzzlement.

She hesitated again, bit her lip, then summoned her courage to ask, “That day… why did you come for me?”

Qin Feng immediately understood that she was referring to the day he had rescued her from danger. Smiling, he replied, “The situation was very urgent, and I could only get you to safety. As for what happened afterward… I really didn’t do anything.”

“Yes,” Lin Wanting nodded lightly, her heartbeat inexplicably quickening, a blush creeping onto her delicate face as she avoided meeting his gaze.

Seeing her like this, a mischievous smile played at the corner of Qin Feng’s mouth. He reached out, pulling Lin Wanting gently into his embrace, and spoke softly, “You needn’t worry. Nothing happened that night.”

To be honest, Qin Feng did desire Lin Wanting—not merely out of longing, but because he truly cared for her. Yet he would not force her; she was someone to be cherished, someone worthy of all that was beautiful.

Lin Wanting trembled slightly but did not resist, allowing herself to be held, her head resting against his chest, breathing in the unique scent that belonged to him alone, feeling an extraordinary sense of peace.

In that moment, she almost wished time could stand still forever.

“By the way,” Qin Feng suddenly said, recalling the previous night, “just before we boarded the plane, I got a call from the organizers. They said they would do their best to handle the aftermath, so we can return home without worries.”

Lin Wanting was momentarily surprised, then asked, “Have they found out who was behind it?”

“Not yet,” Qin Feng shook his head, a trace of concern crossing his brow. “Since those people dared to come after us at the airport, they must be on guard. It’ll be difficult to catch them in a short time.”

Lin Wanting frowned in thought, then said, “I understand. I’ll help you find out who’s behind all this. No matter where they’re hiding, I will uncover them!”

“There’s no need,” Qin Feng stopped her, his smile gentle. “Let me handle this. I promise I’ll bring all those who hurt you to justice!”

Lin Wanting blinked her large, glistening eyes and nodded obediently. “I believe you!”

When their plane arrived in Jianghai City, it was lunchtime. Qin Feng and Lin Wanting went straight to the finest hotel in the capital for a meal. After they were full, Lin Wanting suddenly pulled Qin Feng toward the hotel entrance.

“Wanting, what are you up to?” Qin Feng asked in confusion.

“I’m taking you shopping for some decent clothes. There are some things you can overlook, but certain occasions require you to dress formally. Besides, your status isn’t what it used to be—you can’t always be wearing just that denim jacket, can you?” She clung to his arm, playfully urging him, “Come on, let’s go to the mall.”

“Uh… all right,” Qin Feng shrugged helplessly, letting her drag him out of the hotel toward the largest shopping mall in Jianghai.

This mall was a paradise for shopping, dining, and entertainment, filled with dazzling goods and sky-high prices.

“Hey, isn’t that Lin Wanting?” Just as Lin Wanting and Qin Feng were about to enter the mall, a mocking voice rang out.

At the sound of that familiar voice, Lin Wanting stiffened, her grip on Qin Feng’s arm tightening. Clearly, the voice made her uneasy.

Qin Feng glanced over and saw a group of three to five young men and women, all of similar age, stepping out of a nearby Bentley.

“It’s Liu Yuanhang,” Lin Wanting whispered, biting her rosy lips as she glared angrily at one of the men.

Qin Feng took notice as well. He was certain the recent troubles were connected to Liu Yuanhang, but now was not the time for open conflict. He patted Lin Wanting’s small hand, signaling her to stay calm.

Lin Wanting took a deep breath, suppressing her rage, and coldly stared at the approaching man. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, pretending you don’t know us, are you?” Liu Yuanhang’s smile was all malice as he sneered, “So ungrateful! You took money from us not long ago, and now you turn your back on us. How heartless.”

“If I recall correctly, we have nothing to do with each other, do we? So where’s the talk of gratitude?” Lin Wanting snorted. “Qin Feng, let’s go.”

With that, she pulled Qin Feng to leave, unwilling to waste words on this pack of scoundrels.

“Stop right there!” Liu Yuanhang blocked her path, his face darkening, his tone icy as he spoke.

“Lin Wanting, don’t think this Qin Feng can protect you! When the time comes, I’ll have you kneeling before me!”

Before he could finish, Qin Feng was suddenly in front of him.

“Enough,” he spat, his tone freezing cold, as his right fist shot out without warning, landing squarely in Liu Yuanhang’s stomach.

Liu Yuanhang staggered back, crashing into a roadside railing before collapsing to the ground.

“Ah… it hurts!” he howled, clutching his abdomen, sweat beading on his brow, his face ashen.

“You… you actually hit me! You dare lay a hand on me!” he glared at Qin Feng, his bloodshot eyes filled with hatred.

“You should be asking yourself—who gave you the nerve to come here and provoke my woman?” Qin Feng advanced step by step, a murderous chill radiating from him.

“I… I was just joking, don’t take it seriously!” Liu Yuanhang stammered, his legs shaking with fear as he scrambled to his feet and fled in disgrace.

Watching Liu Yuanhang’s miserable retreat, Lin Wanting couldn’t help but laugh.

“It’s been a while since I got some exercise,” Qin Feng said, stretching, then grinned at Lin Wanting. “Come on, let’s keep shopping.”

Lin Wanting smiled gently, nodded, and slipped her arm through his as they continued their stroll, chatting and laughing together.

Meanwhile, at that very moment, in the top-floor office of a luxury tower in Jianghai City…
