Chapter Twenty-Four: Wang Bo’s Entrepreneurial Venture
"Oh?" Wen Bin looked at Liu Yuanhang with some surprise.
Liu Yuanhang explained, "First of all, you know Lin Zhen'nan's condition. He probably won't last much longer. Since he won't live long, there's no need for me to rush things."
"The priority now is to bring Jade Pavilion down and seize its shares. Once we control Jade Pavilion, we'll have the entire Lin Group under our command. Then, handing the company over to my uncle will be perfect, won't it?"
Upon hearing Liu Yuanhang's words, Wen Bin fell into deep thought.
After a while, Wen Bin finally raised his head and said with admiration, "Yuanhang, you always think things through."
Liu Yuanhang waved his hand, "Brother Wen Bin, we're brothers. We should support each other."
"Haha! Well said. Come! Cheers!"
...
Meanwhile, in the president's office at Lin Group.
Lin Zhen'nan sat on the sofa, his face clouded with worry. His hands were clenched into fists, his nails nearly digging into his flesh.
"Chairman, is there really nothing we can do?" Secretary Li Lanfang asked softly.
Lin Zhen'nan sighed, "Aside from transferring assets, I can't think of any other way."
"Chairman, if you're willing to sell Jade Pavilion, we could at least secure ten billion in liquid funds," Li Lanfang suggested gently.
"No! I absolutely will not sell Jade Pavilion!" Lin Zhen'nan refused outright.
Seeing his reaction, Li Lanfang could only propose a compromise, "Chairman, if we don't sell Jade Pavilion, we could apply for a bank loan, or use Lin Group's subsidiaries as collateral."
As she spoke, a sudden inspiration struck Li Lanfang. She said excitedly, "Chairman, I have an idea."
"Let's hear it," Lin Zhen'nan replied.
Li Lanfang hurried to explain, "Chairman, our company is a longstanding state-owned enterprise. Though we've suffered significant losses due to poor management, it still holds considerable value. If we sell some shares and obtain a mortgage loan, we could raise a substantial sum and even secure a huge loan."
After hearing Li Lanfang's suggestion, Lin Zhen'nan fell silent.
After a long pause, he said slowly, "You take care of this."
"Yes, Chairman!"
...
Qin Feng's home.
"Ah Feng, what do you plan to do from now on?" Wang Bo lay on the sofa in the living room, munching on chips, and casually asked Qin Feng.
After all, Qin Feng was now a billionaire.
The question caught Qin Feng off guard—he hadn't really thought about his future plans.
He'd always imagined that once he had money, he'd buy a house, a car, and with his job as a jade consultant earning a million a year, life would be set.
Suddenly, he realized Wang Bo's question had a deeper meaning.
"Go ahead, how much do you want to invest?" Qin Feng didn't beat around the bush with Wang Bo; they always spoke openly.
"Haha, that's what I like about you. Five million for fifty percent of the shares—half each!" Wang Bo grinned brightly.
For them, five million wasn't a small sum, but it was manageable.
Qin Feng thought for a moment, then said, "I'll give you ten million!"
Wang Bo was stunned. He stared wide-eyed at Qin Feng, astonished, "Ah Feng, are you serious? Are you sure?"
Qin Feng nodded with a serious expression.
Wang Bo swallowed hard, struggling to speak, "Ah Feng, don't worry. I'll get your money back within a year!"
Qin Feng was a bit skeptical.
"Be honest, what are you planning?"
Seeing Qin Feng's serious face, Wang Bo straightened up and said solemnly, "Selling sets!"
That left Qin Feng utterly baffled. This guy wants to use fifteen million to sell sets?
He couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time.
But Wang Bo pledged confidently, "Trust me, Ah Feng, this venture will definitely make money! I've done my research!"
"How so?" Qin Feng asked curiously.
"Think about it, the technology involved in these sets is low. I originally planned to spend five million on advertising, but now that you're investing ten million, I'll use five million for ads and ten million to build a factory! Plus, these things sell like crazy—there's no worry about demand!"
Watching Wang Bo's earnest demeanor, Qin Feng could only smile helplessly.
"Do as you see fit. Time to rest. Tomorrow I need to study carving with Master."
With that, Qin Feng stood up and headed upstairs.
Wang Bo didn't try to stop him, just chuckled to himself.
The next morning, Qin Feng got up, washed briefly, and started packing his things.
Qin's mother poked her head out of the kitchen and called to him.
Qin Feng responded and prepared to leave with his backpack.
"Wait, eat before you go!" His mother called out as she saw him heading out.
But Qin Feng's face changed at her words. He muttered something about being late for work and dashed out.
He knew that whenever he stayed with his mother, she'd inevitably urge him to get married—especially to pursue Lin Wanting.
...
Inside Master Yan's studio.
Upon arrival, Qin Feng greeted him, "Master!"
"Qin Feng, did you sleep well last night?" Master Yan smiled.
"Pretty well," Qin Feng replied, scratching his head awkwardly. "Teacher, what should I do today?"
"First, practice what I've taught you so far, then I'll teach you carving," Master Yan instructed.
Qin Feng was immediately excited and quickly replied, "Yes, Teacher."
He hurriedly found a piece of wood and took out his carving tools.
Master Yan watched Qin Feng's skilled movements and nodded in satisfaction.
He knew Qin Feng had a solid foundation, so he wasn't worried.
Two hours later, Qin Feng finally stopped carving.
Looking at the newly finished jade pendant in his hand, Qin Feng was thrilled.
He handed the pendant to Master Yan, "Teacher, could you check if it's suitable?"
Master Yan examined it carefully, then said, "Not bad. It's quite good and suits your style."
Qin Feng grinned, feeling quite pleased.
"Alright, now I'll teach you the most critical part!"
Master Yan took a deep breath and said, "First, I want to teach you how to improve your carving skills!"
"Remember, you've only mastered the most basic techniques, but that's far from enough. I want you to learn the essence, to raise your craftsmanship to the level of a top master."
Upon hearing this, Qin Feng became solemn, listening intently.
Master Yan continued, "A true master reaches the pinnacle of carving, deserving the title, and possesses extraordinary creativity and innovation."
"Take this pendant you carved—you've captured the form, but not the spirit."
