Chapter Twenty-Three: Let Me Give It to You
Guests paused to admire or whispered among themselves, the atmosphere lively and full of anticipation.
Qin Feng activated his clairvoyant eye, scanning each raw jade stone one by one. Lin Wanting stood quietly beside him, observing his movements.
Suddenly, Qin Feng stopped, his gaze fixed on a seemingly ordinary stone. Its surface was riddled with cracks and impurities, rendering it almost unnoticed by others.
“Wanting, what do you think of this one?” Qin Feng turned to ask her.
Lin Wanting studied the stone carefully, her brows knitting together.
“Its appearance is really quite poor, even the appraisal report values it very low. Are you sure?”
Qin Feng smiled faintly, confidence gleaming in his eyes.
“Sometimes, flaws on the surface conceal treasures within. I trust my judgment.”
With those words, he strode over to the staff without hesitation and declared his intention to purchase the stone. Though doubts lingered in her heart, Lin Wanting chose to trust him and accompanied him through the transaction.
Soon after, Qin Feng personally began to cut the stone. Amidst the roar of machinery and flying chips, the once unremarkable stone gradually revealed its true nature—a piece of jade, clear and lustrous, its gentle glow captivating all who watched.
Wang Bo, upon seeing Qin Feng produce such jade, was instantly excited. He grabbed Qin Feng and asked, “Feng, how did you know there was jade inside that stone?”
Qin Feng smiled and replied, “Intuition.”
His clairvoyant eye was a divine talent, almost miraculous, needing no justification.
“Amazing!”
He felt proud of his brother’s showmanship. After all, as Lin Wanting had said, in the eyes of others, he was always seen as a wealthy upstart.
But when Qin Feng’s stone yielded such a windfall, the crowd surged toward him. The jade he had revealed was undoubtedly of the highest quality. Some seasoned stone gamblers, wealthy men, were already considering acquiring it.
Yet Qin Feng paid them no mind, instead turning to Lin Wanting.
“I’ll give it to you.”
“Thank you!” Lin Wanting smiled sweetly.
She knew well the value of this jade, and Qin Feng gifting her such a precious piece as a first meeting present greatly increased her affection for him.
Not far away, Wang Bo watched and couldn’t help but sigh, “Truly blessed with beauty and fortune!”
“Jealous?” Qin Feng teased.
Wang Bo shrugged, feigning indifference. “I am a little jealous.”
…
Outside the hotel, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom was parked steadily. In the back seat, a young man spoke coldly, “Understood. Keep watching.”
“Yes, sir!” the driver replied immediately.
This young man was Liu Yuanhang of the Liu Group. He had come today intending to patch things up with Lin Wanting after their previous misunderstanding. But upon hearing Qin Feng’s name, a wave of rage swept through him.
“Damn that woman! Once I get my hands on the shares of Jade Pavilion, I’ll ruin her!”
Liu Yuanhang thought grimly to himself.
At that moment, his phone rang—it was his father calling.
“Hello, Dad,” Liu Yuanhang answered.
A commanding voice came from the other end, “How’s the collection going over there?”
Liu Yuanhang frowned slightly, paused, then nodded, “Almost done, only two shareholders left.”
The voice warned again, “Hurry it up. It must be settled within a month.”
“I understand, Dad.” Liu Yuanhang hung up, a vicious gleam flashing in his eyes.
He then picked up his phone and dialed another number, instructing, “Find out where Lin Zhenan is right now!”
“Yes, young master.”
…
Within Riversea Estate.
After escorting Lin Wanting to Jade Pavilion, Qin Feng was about to take Wang Bo home for a tour. Just then, his phone suddenly rang.
Seeing the unfamiliar number displayed, Qin Feng hesitated briefly before answering.
“Hello, who are you looking for?” Qin Feng asked.
A man’s voice came through.
“You’re Qin Feng, aren’t you?”
Qin Feng was startled; he hadn’t expected the man to know him.
“Who are you?” Qin Feng countered.
The man snorted coldly, his tone icy. “Who I am is irrelevant. Remember, from now on, stay away from Lin Wanting, or you’ll suffer a miserable fate!”
The line went dead as soon as he finished.
Qin Feng stood there, clutching his phone, silent for a long moment.
What had that man said? Told him to stay away from Lin Wanting?
Qin Feng shook his head and chuckled, murmuring to himself, “What an idiot.”
“Who was that?” Wang Bo asked curiously, leaning in.
“Just some random person,” Qin Feng replied carelessly.
Wang Bo pursed his lips, uninterested in pursuing the matter.
Qin Feng watched his friend’s back, a flash of coldness in his eyes before his usual smile returned.
…
Night deepened.
Lights twinkled.
In the most luxurious Western restaurant in Riversea City, Liu Yuanhang was seated by the window with another young man.
Liu Yuanhang wore a white shirt, tie, and gold-rimmed glasses, giving off an air of cultured sophistication.
“Wenbin, I’m certain I’ll secure the Lin Group this time,” Liu Yuanhang said confidently after sipping his wine.
The young man he called Wenbin was thin, sporting a buzz cut, his features unremarkable, but his eyes were piercingly deep.
“Yuanhang, let’s stick to the plan. We must be flawless this time,” Wenbin cautioned.
Liu Yuanhang dismissed his concern, “Don’t worry, I’m well prepared.”
“As long as you’re confident,” Wenbin nodded, then added, “But we must still consider this carefully.”
“Why?” Liu Yuanhang asked, puzzled.
Wenbin pondered for a while before replying, “Although we’ve cooperated with the Lin Group for over ten years, the company has steadily declined, especially in recent years.”
“Think about it—have they launched any new projects or innovations lately?”
Liu Yuanhang considered for a moment, then shook his head, “No, not even a single product.”
“Exactly. So I suspect Lin Zhenan is ready to let things collapse, abandoning the Lin Group altogether.”
Wenbin continued, “If that’s the case, it’s very disadvantageous for us. I suggest we seize the company before Lin Zhenan changes his mind.”
Liu Yuanhang frowned, “Wenbin, I don’t think it’s necessary.”
