Chapter 159: Going Home

“Get out.”
Qin Feng’s tone was calm, yet carried an unquestionable authority.
The woman, as though granted a reprieve, scrambled to her feet and fled.
Seeing this, Zhao Kun hurriedly put on a fawning smile. “Mr. Qin, are you satisfied with how I handled this matter?”
“Take them all away. From now on, I don’t want to see any of them at the Jade Pavilion again.”
Qin Feng spoke indifferently as his gaze swept over the hooligans behind Zhao Kun, sharp as a blade.
“Yes, yes, of course! Don’t worry, Mr. Qin. I guarantee they’ll never dare come here and cause trouble again!”
Bowing and scraping, Zhao Kun agreed at once. He then ordered his men to drive every troublemaker out of the shop.
The employees and onlookers were dumbfounded by the scene before them, their eyes filled with awe as they looked at Qin Feng.
No one had expected this ordinary-looking young man to command such respect from even a local power broker like Zhao Kun.
After dealing with everything, Zhao Kun once again approached Qin Feng with a deferential smile and asked tentatively, “Mr. Qin, well… I have something else to attend to, so may I leave now?”
Qin Feng said nothing. He merely gave a faint nod.
As though pardoned from a death sentence, Zhao Kun hurriedly fled the Jade Pavilion.
Watching his departing back, Qin Feng’s lips curved into an amused smile.
He naturally knew why Zhao Kun had treated him with such respect today. The man was merely trying to put his own mind at ease.
After Zhao Kun left, even the air inside the Jade Pavilion seemed fresher. The employees gathered around Qin Feng, their faces overflowing with gratitude and admiration.
“Mr. Qin, thank you so much! If it weren’t for you, we would have been in serious trouble today!” a young female employee said, blushing as an unusual light gleamed in her eyes.
“That’s right, Mr. Qin. You’re incredible! Even a local kingpin like Zhao Kun treats you with the utmost respect,” another employee chimed in.
Qin Feng merely smiled faintly. “It was nothing. Don’t give it another thought.”
Just then, Zhang Hu entered with several of his men. Seeing the state of the shop, he hurriedly asked, “Brother Feng, are you all right?”
Qin Feng shook his head helplessly. Zhang Hu really did believe in solving everything through violence.
“It’s fine now. Everything’s been taken care of. Let’s go.”

When they returned to the villa on the outskirts of Jianghai City, Qin Feng suddenly remembered that he had not been home for several days.
The moment he opened the door, the familiar aroma of home cooking wafted toward him. His mother, wearing an apron, poked her head out of the kitchen. The instant she saw Qin Feng, her face blossomed into a delighted smile.
“You’re home, Little Feng! Go wash your hands and come eat. I made your favorite braised pork!”
Looking at his kind and loving mother, Qin Feng felt a warm current rise within him.
He walked over and gently embraced her. “Mom, I’m sorry for making you worry.”
It was a simple dinner, yet it was filled with the warmth of home.
Throughout the meal, his mother kept piling food into his bowl and asking concerned questions about how he had been lately.
Qin Feng answered patiently, concealing all the dangerous experiences he had endured and telling her only that everything had gone smoothly.
After dinner, Qin Feng stayed with his mother and chatted for a while.
Seeing the long-lost smile on her face, he secretly swore that he would never allow her to become involved in his affairs.
“Ding-dong!”
The doorbell suddenly rang. Qin Feng rose to answer it and found Lin Wanting standing gracefully outside, holding an exquisite basket of fruit.
“Wanting, what brings you here?” Qin Feng asked, somewhat surprised.
Lin Wanting smiled faintly. “What? Am I not welcome?”
“Come in.”
Qin Feng stepped aside to let her enter.
The moment his mother saw Lin Wanting, her face lit up with a warm smile. She affectionately took the young woman’s hand and said, “Wanting, it’s been ages since you last came over for dinner. Do you still like Auntie’s braised pork?”
Lin Wanting sat down with poised ease and smiled. “Auntie, of course I love your cooking. I’ve been craving it for ages.”
“That’s good, that’s good. Eat more.”
As she spoke, Qin Feng’s mother placed another piece of braised pork in Lin Wanting’s bowl. Then she turned to Qin Feng and said, “Little Feng, you should take better care of Wanting too. It isn’t easy for a young woman to run a business on her own.”
Qin Feng frowned slightly and changed the subject without revealing his thoughts. “Mom, Wanting came here today because…”
“Oh, look at me—I completely forgot.”
Lin Wanting took over with a smile. “It’s like this, Auntie. My shop recently received a new shipment of uncut jade roughs, and I wanted to ask Qin Feng to come over and examine them for me.”
The moment his mother heard this, she became interested. “Little Feng, that’s your specialty. You must help Wanting properly.”

“Mom, I know.”
Qin Feng exchanged a glance with Lin Wanting, and they both smiled.
After dinner, Qin Feng followed Lin Wanting to the Jade Pavilion.
The shop was brightly lit, and its display cases were filled with a dazzling array of jade ornaments that radiated a gentle luster.
Lin Wanting showed Qin Feng the newly acquired rough stones one by one. They varied in shape and size, most of them wrapped in thick layers of stone that made it difficult to discern the quality of what lay within.
“Ah Feng, take a look at this shipment for me. Do you see anything good?”
Lin Wanting gazed at him expectantly.
Qin Feng nodded and activated his clairvoyant vision. His gaze seemed capable of piercing through layer after layer of stone, revealing the internal structure and spiritual energy within each rough.
Under his eyes, the stones gradually became transparent. Most were riddled with impurities and contained only a trace of spiritual energy. Only a few were of passable quality.
Just as Qin Feng was beginning to feel disappointed, his gaze was suddenly drawn to an inconspicuous piece of black-skinned rough stone in the corner.
The stone was only about the size of a fist. It was pitch-black all over, its surface coarse and uneven. It looked utterly ordinary, even somewhat ugly.
Yet when Qin Feng’s clairvoyant vision pierced through the black outer layer, he discovered an astonishing mass of concentrated spiritual energy hidden inside. It burned like a roaring flame, far more powerful than any jade he had ever seen before.
Qin Feng’s heart jolted. Pointing at the black rough stone, he asked, “How much did you pay for this one?”
Lin Wanting followed his gaze, a flicker of puzzlement passing through her eyes.
The merchant had thrown this piece in for free when she purchased the shipment, claiming it was worthless and that no one wanted it. She had never paid it any attention.
“This one.” Qin Feng pointed at the unimpressive black rough stone, the corners of his lips curling into an amused smile.
“It’s worth a fortune.”
Lin Wanting froze. She looked at Qin Feng, then lowered her head to stare at the blackened stone, her face filled with disbelief.
“Ah Feng, don’t joke with me. The merchant gave this thing away for free, and nobody wanted it. How could it possibly be worth a fortune?”
“You don’t believe me?” Qin Feng raised an eyebrow, his deep gaze seemingly capable of seeing through everything.
Lin Wanting’s heart trembled, and a faint blush spread across her face. “It’s not that I don’t believe you. It’s just…”
She hesitated, but eventually continued, “This rough stone really doesn’t look like anything special. I even asked several experienced appraisers before, and they all said it was worthless.”
