"Miss Lin, when will the money be transferred?"

Qin Feng sat in the main hall of Jade Pavilion, never one to be shy about his own money.

At his words, Lin Wanting gave a helpless smile.

"Don't worry, I've already had someone start the process. The amount is rather large, so it should arrive tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? Can't it be today?"

Qin Feng was a little frustrated. His mother's illness still required money; the sooner he could pay, the sooner she could have the operation.

Before, when he had no money, they could only keep her going with medication. Now that he had funds, he wanted the surgery done as soon as possible to wake her.

"I'm afraid it can't be done today."

"I see."

Qin Feng raised his brows, clearly disappointed.

"But if you urgently need the money, I can advance you some."

Without waiting for Qin Feng to respond, she took out her phone and made a transfer.

A moment later, a notification popped up on Qin Feng's phone: ten million had just been deposited in his bank account.

Witnessing this, Qin Feng couldn't help but marvel at his fortunes. Just a day ago, he had been an obscure nobody; now, he was a multimillionaire.

"If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave. I need to head to the hospital."

Qin Feng gathered his things, preparing to go.

At that moment, Lin Wanting suddenly grabbed his arm. "Qin Feng, wait a moment."

"Yes? Is there something else, Miss Lin?" Qin Feng asked, puzzled.

"Would you be interested in becoming a special consultant for Jade Pavilion?" Lin Wanting hesitated, then summoned her courage.

Qin Feng couldn’t help but laugh. "A special consultant for Jade Pavilion? Sorry, I’m not interested at the moment. If a suitable opportunity arises, I’ll consider it."

Though he was wealthy now, he had no intention of doing anything in particular, including gambling on jade stones.

"Our terms are quite generous. If you join us, you’ll have an annual salary of a million, plus a car and a house," Lin Wanting continued patiently, as if she had expected his refusal.

Hearing this, Qin Feng was tempted. If she’d led with that, he might not have refused.

"Well, I suppose that’s not impossible."

Even though he was well-off now, earning a salary wouldn’t hurt.

"Wonderful!" Lin Wanting’s eyes lit up with excitement. "Once you’re free, give me a call and I’ll arrange everything."

Qin Feng nodded, and without lingering, turned and left Jade Pavilion.

Outside, he hailed a taxi straight to Jianghai City People's Hospital.

"Where to, sir?" the driver asked, glancing at Qin Feng in the rearview mirror.

Qin Feng glanced at the hospital logo and replied, "People’s Hospital."

About twenty minutes later, the car arrived at the hospital entrance.

After getting out, Qin Feng headed straight inside, took the elevator to the third floor, and walked directly toward a private room.

On the bed lay a woman in her forties—Qin Feng's mother, Liu Guixiang.

She was sleeping, her face pale and gaunt, looking extremely frail.

Looking at his mother in this state, Qin Feng felt a pang of sorrow.

His father had died early, and before Qin Feng entered university, his mother had scrimped and saved for his tuition.

After the entrance exams, when he applied for the most expensive major in the capital, his mother never pressured him again; instead, she only worried for him.

Recalling all that had happened lately, Qin Feng sighed, gripping his mother’s thin wrist, his eyes reddening.

"Mom, we don’t have to endure hardship anymore."

He whispered, silently vowing that with this fortune, he would immediately buy a villa and bring his mother to live there.

"Qin Feng, when did you arrive?"

A voice interrupted his thoughts.

He turned and saw a young nurse standing at the door.

Her name was Bai Ruoxi, a nurse from the room next door who had been caring for Liu Guixiang ever since she was admitted, so Qin Feng had gradually become acquainted with her, often chatting idly.

"I just got here. By the way, Ruoxi, could you let Dr. Wang know to schedule my mother’s surgery as soon as possible? I’ll go settle the bill shortly."

"No problem, I’ll speak to Dr. Wang right away. You stay and chat with your mom; I’ve got to get back to work," Bai Ruoxi replied with a smile.

"Thank you."

After she left, Qin Feng sat by the bed, looking at his still-sleeping mother, and spoke softly: "Mom, don’t worry. Once you recover, we’ll move into a new home together."

Night fell, and the streets of Jianghai City blazed with lights, cars streaming endlessly by.

After settling the surgery fees, Qin Feng headed out to buy some late-night snacks and happened to see Bai Ruoxi getting off work, so the two left together.

"Qin Feng, be honest with me—are you involved in anything illegal?"

Bai Ruoxi had been pleased to hear he’d paid the surgery fees, but a moment later, realization struck—after all, that was two hundred thousand for the operation.

She knew Qin Feng was a recent college graduate; where could he have gotten that kind of money?

"Don’t worry, I didn’t get it through any shady means. Besides, you know the kind of person I am," Qin Feng replied, then recounted his visit to Jade Pavilion, only describing Lin Wanting and Master Yan as his benefactors.

Initially, Bai Ruoxi wasn’t surprised, but when he mentioned Master Yan, she was taken aback.

"You know Master Yan?"

Qin Feng was puzzled—Master Yan was a prominent figure, and Bai Ruoxi was just a nurse. How could she know someone like that?

"Yes, Master Yan is an old friend of my grandfather. But congratulations on your new job," she said quickly, sensing his curiosity and steering the conversation elsewhere.

"So, with all that money, aren’t you going to treat me to a meal?"

Her teasing was only half-joking.

"Of course! Dinner’s on me tonight—pick any place you like," Qin Feng laughed heartily.

He could see her intentions, but since she didn’t want to say more, he wouldn’t press her.

"That’s easy—just follow me!"

Bai Ruoxi nodded and led Qin Feng to a small restaurant near the hospital.

"This place has pretty good food, and we’re both hungry. Let’s dig in!" she said as they took a window seat.

Qin Feng didn’t stand on ceremony, ordered a few dishes, and waited.

The food arrived quickly, and after their meal, it was already ten at night. To prevent his mother from going hungry if she woke, he ordered a takeaway portion for her as well.
