Chapter 114: A Quick Refreshment First
The next day.
"Boom!"
A luxury sports car screeched to a halt in front of Qin Feng’s store, Tianfeng Pavilion. Yang Tianchen stepped out, and seeing the shop was still closed, he anxiously dialed Qin Feng’s number.
A few seconds later, the call was answered.
"Hello? Qin Feng, how did you end up clashing with those people from the Hong Gang?"
Qin Feng, having just woken up, looked at Bai Ruoxi in his arms and smiled helplessly. He hadn't expected news of the incident to reach Yang Tianchen so quickly.
"Tianchen, don't worry about it. Trust me, I have it under control. Also, are the Wang family and Ichiro Yamamoto of the Black Dragon Society colluding with each other now?"
Before he could finish, he heard Yang Tianchen gasp in surprise on the other end.
"When did that happen? How come I didn't know?"
Qin Feng paused, surprised by the reaction. It seemed he had asked on a whim, but the fact that Yang Tianchen was unaware of the collusion suggested he had been so busy investigating the Black Dragon Society and the Wang family that he had overlooked some critical details.
"You heard me right. I don't know what those two scoundrels are plotting, but since you've already locked horns with the Hong Gang, let's join forces," Yang Tianchen proposed.
Qin Feng considered this and agreed. "Fine. I’m heading to Tianfeng Pavilion now; wait for me there."
"Alright," Yang Tianchen replied.
After hanging up, Qin Feng looked at the now-awake Bai Ruoxi and apologized, "Ruoxi, I’m sorry. I’m afraid I have to break our plans today; I have some business to attend to."
"Go ahead, don't worry about me. Just come find me if you need anything," Bai Ruoxi said gently.
"Stay in bed for a while longer."
Qin Feng kissed her forehead, changed his clothes, and set off for Tianfeng Pavilion.
Tianfeng Pavilion had become a significant establishment in the Panjiayuan area, boasting a spacious layout. Normally, besides Qin Feng, Yang Tianchen had stationed some men there to keep watch and prevent any trouble.
When Qin Feng arrived, Yang Tianchen was already waiting at the entrance.
"Let’s go inside and talk!" Yang Tianchen led the way.
Qin Feng followed him inside without hesitation. The interior was luxuriously decorated with a classical, elegant aesthetic; various artifacts were displayed on the walls, tables, and shelves.
"Have a seat for a moment."
Qin Feng gestured for Yang Tianchen to sit on the sofa before heading toward the stairs. Shortly after, he returned with two cups of coffee and handed one to Yang Tianchen.
"Here, have this to wake up."
Yang Tianchen smiled as he took a sip and asked, "How have things been lately?"
"Quite well, but I still have to thank you," Qin Feng nodded. Without Yang Tianchen’s intervention, it wouldn't have been easy for him to handle those thugs on his own.
Yang Tianchen chuckled. "Don't be so formal. You're my brother; helping you is only right."
Qin Feng nodded, skipping the pleasantries. "Let’s put the Hong Gang aside for a moment, as their main influence is still overseas. The Black Dragon Society seems to be colluding with the Wang family. Based on the intelligence I gathered, it concerns an ancient stone Buddha and a sarira."
"A sarira?" Yang Tianchen raised an eyebrow. "I’ve heard of them, but I don't know exactly what they are used for. Still, things like that are usually priceless. No wonder the Wang family and the Hong Gang are fighting so fiercely over it."
"Yes. Rumor has it the stone Buddha was left behind by an emperor from the Ming Dynasty."
"The Ming Dynasty? Isn't that national treasure-level stuff?" Yang Tianchen was shocked.
"I’m not entirely sure of the details, but my guess is that the Black Dragon Society is forcing the Wang family to hand over the map so they can steal the treasure and smuggle it overseas." Qin Feng pondered for a moment before asking, "Tianchen, what is your plan?"
"I don't have one yet, but rest assured, with me around, I’ll know the moment any member of the Black Dragon Society tries to leave the capital!"
Qin Feng thought for a moment and said, "Then I’ll keep watching the Wang family. I’ll see if I can pry anything out of Wang Teng tonight."
Yang Tianchen smiled and patted his shoulder. "Fine. Just be careful. Wang Teng is cunning; don't let them trap you. I’m going to go arrange some men right now."
Qin Feng waved a hand to show he understood and left Tianfeng Pavilion.
...
Just as he stepped out, his phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.
"Hello?" Qin Feng answered calmly.
"Brother Qin, where are you?" Wang Teng’s voice came through.
"Drinking? Since when did Young Master Wang become so polite?" Qin Feng sneered. He knew Wang Teng never visited without a hidden agenda; he definitely wasn't up to any good.
"Don't be like that, Brother Qin. It was all a misunderstanding! I’m hosting a dinner tonight at the Cloud Peak Club. I hope you’ll do me the honor of attending!"
Qin Feng hesitated. Wang Teng taking the initiative to invite him was unexpected.
"Fine. Since Young Master Wang is so sincere, I’ll accept your invitation."
"Great! That’s the spirit! I’ll be waiting for you!"
After hanging up, a playful smile curled on Qin Feng’s lips. This was undoubtedly a trap. It seemed tonight would be interesting.
...
Night fell, and the city lights began to glow.
The Cloud Peak Club was one of the most exclusive entertainment venues in Jianghai City—a place of decadence, neon lights, and luxury.
When Qin Feng pushed open the door to the private room Wang Teng had specified, deafening music rushed out to meet him. The room was lavishly decorated, the air thick with the scent of alcohol and cigarettes.
Wang Teng sat on the sofa, his arms draped around two scantily clad women. Seeing Qin Feng enter, he hurriedly stood up and greeted him with a smile.
"Brother Qin, you’ve finally arrived! Please, have a seat!"
Qin Feng scanned the room. Aside from Wang Teng, there were several unfamiliar faces. These men were burly with sharp, piercing gazes—clearly not to be trifled with.
In the corner sat a middle-aged man in a black Tang suit. A hideous scar ran across his face, and he exuded a cold, sinister aura.
"Brother Qin, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Muteng from the Black Dragon Society," Wang Teng said, gesturing toward the scarred man.
Qin Feng glanced at him and immediately understood. So, it was someone from the Black Dragon Society. However, this Mr. Muteng didn't seem like much of a master; Qin Feng could see through his strength with a single glance.
Seeing Qin Feng enter, Mr. Muteng stood up slowly. His eyes locked onto Qin Feng, flashing with a cold, predatory glint.
