Chapter 9: I Will Provide for You and Your Son for the Rest of Your Lives
Gu Wennuan was wearing a black silk pajama robe. Because it was too large, she had to roll up the sleeves and pant legs.
Tang Xi recognized it at a glance; it was Gu Yu's pajama.
Noticing Tang Xi’s gaze fixed intently on her, Gu Wennuan looked somewhat embarrassed. "My pajamas were accidentally soaked yesterday, so I had to borrow my brother's. Sister-in-law, you don't mind, do you?"
"What if I said I did?"
Tang Xi’s gaze turned cold. "Gu Wennuan, only those who are intimate wear each other's pajamas. You are a mother now; surely you understand that much?"
Gu Wennuan immediately began to play the victim. "Sister-in-law, is there truly no room for me in this house? It seems that whatever I do is wrong."
"Move out. As long as you move out, I will support you and your son for the rest of your lives."
"We aren't moving! The one who should get lost is a vixen like you!" Little Feng suddenly rushed over, grabbed a bowl of freshly cooked wontons from the table, and splashed them at Tang Xi.
Although Tang Xi dodged instantly, the bowl shattered on the floor, and her clothes were splattered with soup.
"Stinky woman, bad woman, get out of here!" Little Feng shrieked like a wild animal.
Tang Xi glanced at the mess on the floor and turned to instruct the maid hiding in the kitchen, "Go upstairs and pack their luggage. I will arrange for a car to take them away."
"You wouldn't dare!" Little Feng shouted. "This is my uncle's house!"
"Then did your uncle tell you that we are legally married? I own half of this house, and I have the right to make you leave immediately." Tang Xi looked at the somewhat shocked Gu Wennuan. "Miss Gu, a tree cannot live without its bark, and a person cannot live without their dignity. I believe you still wish to save face; don't make me call building security to throw you out."
The maid, not daring to disobey Tang Xi, hurried upstairs to pack.
"Wife, what are you doing?" Gu Yu strode in from outside.
"Brother!" Gu Wennuan threw herself into Gu Yu's arms. "I don't know what I did wrong, but sister-in-law wants to kick us out."
Gu Yu raised a hand to shield her, looking at Tang Xi with displeasure. "Wife, what are you making a scene about now?"
"Making a scene?" Tang Xi saw Gu Yu holding Gu Wennuan’s wrist, the protective gesture stinging her eyes. "She is parading around in your pajamas in front of me. Her son not only spied on our private life but also vandalized my studio and put a snake in my bathroom. Just now, he even threw a bowl of wontons at me and called me a bad woman who should get lost. You call all of this me making a scene?"
Gu Yu was clearly stunned for a moment. He looked at Gu Wennuan’s pitiful eyes, then at Little Feng, who was crying on the floor. "Wife, Wennuan’s pajamas were wet, and I knew you wouldn't like anyone wearing your clothes, so I lent her mine. As for the privacy issue, curiosity is a child's nature; he didn't mean any harm. The incident in the studio was just him being mischievous; I will educate him properly. And as for that snake, he certainly didn't put it there. He is so small, how could he possibly catch a snake? You must have been too tired and hallucinated."
He then looked at the maid. "Clean up the floor. I will talk to him; wasting food is shameful."
Facing Gu Yu’s every word of defense, Tang Xi felt her heart cooling inch by inch. "So, you would rather believe them than me, is that it?"
"I just hope you can all get along peacefully."
"Get along peacefully? Can you really not see their true intentions?" Tang Xi took a deep breath. "Fine. If they aren't leaving, I will."
She felt she would suffocate if she stayed in this house for even one more minute.
"Wife!" Gu Yu reached out anxiously to grab Tang Xi, but he bumped into a wound on her shoulder.
Tang Xi hissed in pain, breaking into a cold sweat.
"What happened to your shoulder?" Gu Yu rushed forward to examine it. "When were you injured? Why didn't you tell me?"
