Gu Sheng was very nervous. She knew she was doing something unconventional and rebellious; her tightly clenched palms were drenched in cold sweat. But this was her own decision—there was no turning back now. Throughout the journey, she had nearly kept her head bowed, quietly following He Wenzhou.

They say everything has a first time.

In the elevator, Gu Sheng kept reassuring herself: it was merely sleeping with a man. After all, there was nothing strange or terrifying about such matters between men and women. Besides, He Wenzhou appeared strong and well-built. She was not at a disadvantage.

Yet Gu Sheng had underestimated the madness buried deep within a man’s nature.

The moment the door was pushed open, before she could even take in the room’s layout, her vision blurred. She felt herself stumble backward, only to be caught by He Wenzhou who lifted her waist and pressed her against the door behind them.

Startled, Gu Sheng let out a sharp cry. Trapped in the dim, cramped space, her voice barely had time to break before He Wenzhou’s scorching kiss descended upon her like a tidal wave.

Her mind went utterly blank.

Her experience with Zhao Qinglang had been nothing more than a few innocent kisses; in this regard, she was inexperienced and found it hard to withstand He Wenzhou’s overwhelming passion.

“He—He Wenzhou…” Gu Sheng finally managed to catch her breath. The door pressed uncomfortably against her back. She pushed hard against He Wenzhou, tilting her head slightly upward to meet his fiery gaze in the dim light. Her trembling voice barely escaped in a plaintive plea, “Not here, okay?”

Having said that, she immediately regretted it, fearing he might think her overly delicate.

But then a low, husky chuckle rose in the darkness. Suddenly, the arm around her waist tightened with force, and the next moment she was lifted completely off the ground into He Wenzhou’s embrace.

Held tightly against him, Gu Sheng’s eyes widened in surprise. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck. He Wenzhou slightly turned his head, gently pressing a kiss to her ear, his voice laced with seductive softness, “Mmm.”

He Wenzhou gently bit Gu Sheng’s earlobe as he turned and walked toward the bedroom, facing the dim light. “As you wish.”

It was early morning.

At the far end of the spacious bedroom, beyond the half-drawn curtains of the floor-to-ceiling window, the horizon was heavy with dense clouds, faintly illuminated by the approaching dawn.

It looked like another gloomy day.

In a shadowy corner of the room, near the soft, large bed, a mix of men’s and women’s clothes lay scattered. In the center of the mattress, two slender, entwined figures lay pressed closely together.

Gu Sheng's hair was tousled as she nestled in He Wenzhou’s arms, wearing only a bra. Fear caused her to shut her eyes tightly, struggling to breathe under the intensity of his advances. Her hands instinctively pressed against his strong chest.

She was very thin, with little flesh on her body. Her delicate arms reached up to clutch his back, and suddenly her fingertips felt an unbearable heat, as if seared.

So hot.

Her own body temperature rose with it.

When the last piece of clothing slipped away, Gu Sheng was so tense she could hardly speak. “He Wenzhou…”

“Hmm?” His hair was tousled as he lowered his head, his gaze falling on her furrowed face. A heavy emotion stained the corners of his eyes, as if a blinding white light pierced through them. His thin lips parted with a command: “Open your eyes. Look at me.”

Gu Sheng turned her head away, clutching the blanket on the bed. She felt ashamed, biting her lip as she trembled and refused in a fragile voice, “No.”

But before the words had fully escaped, her slender waist was deliberately pinched. She flinched and, shocked, opened her eyes with a low cry, only to meet He Wenzhou’s dark, deep eyes, still sharp even in the night.

That gaze seemed ready to strip her skin and bones bare.

Gu Sheng’s scalp tingled, an involuntary shiver running through her. Yet when she tried to look away, He Wenzhou gripped her chin firmly, forcing her to meet his eyes. She clearly heard his heavy breaths as he pressed, “Gu Sheng.” For the first time, he bit into her name like a question. “Tell me, who am I?”

Gu Sheng’s chin ached from the grip. She was sober and thought his question unreasonable. Yet she also felt toyed with, and out of some inexplicable stubbornness, she refused to answer.

“Answer me.”

He Wenzhou would not relent; his tone darkened with a palpable edge of cruelty. His calloused fingertips trailed downward, teasing her, causing her body to tremble uncontrollably. Suddenly, someone grabbed her right ankle. Startled as if shocked by electricity, she flew open her eyes and, terrified, pushed He Wenzhou away with great force.

“Don’t touch me!”

At that moment, the charged atmosphere shattered completely.

Gu Sheng instinctively sat up, paling as she clutched her right ankle, scarred and twisted. After a long moment, her trembling eyelashes fluttered back to awareness. When she looked up, she met He Wenzhou’s cold, indifferent gaze.

Panic surged through her. Remembering his question, she choked out an explanation, “It’s not what I meant!”

He Wenzhou only smiled faintly, amused, and without a second glance, he retreated decisively, stepping off the bed.

Watching him put on his sleepwear again, Gu Sheng froze in place. At that moment, she felt utterly degraded in his eyes.

That look seemed to say silently, “Hah, pretending to be innocent?”
