Chapter 33: The Four-and-a-Half-Year-Old Senior
The Sword Sect disciples standing at the edge of the cliff still wanted to jump, but an invisible force pressed them back.
They fell silent for a moment before collapsing onto the ground.
At last, a few of the bolder disciples spoke up. “How about we wait here?”
“Senior Brother Jiang is blessed by heaven. He’ll definitely be fine.”
Chu Shiyue looked at the cliff, now impossible to descend, then picked up her sword and walked back. She sat down where she was and began meditating.
The others followed her example.
Hundreds of new comments appeared the instant the page was refreshed, surging wildly like untamed horses that had broken free of their reins and were leaping across an endless grassland. Their destination seemed to be every corner of that vast prairie; they intended to trample every inch beneath their hooves, pounding the grass to pieces.
When Ao Pu and Zou Chuan reached the musk pig’s corpse, the gray, mottled-shelled insect also slowly closed in.
I felt even more embarrassed to ask for anything. It was never that I was dissatisfied with the plot; I was simply unhappy with the updates. That was more or less the situation. Even when I occasionally asked for monthly votes, it was only for fun, shouting a few words to stir people up.
I was already thoroughly familiar with setting up teleportation arrays. There was no difficulty or obstruction to speak of.
On the way here, with Uncle Gensheng’s guidance, I had also prepared two gifts. They were nothing valuable: two fiery-red carp, each more than a foot long. There had originally been some golden carp in my spatial storage, but they were too conspicuous, so I had replaced them with red ones at the last moment. There were also two large bunches of strawberries taken from the storage space.
“Uh...” Han Jun looked awkward. He had originally come today to discuss business, so how had things turned into this? And that old man’s casual remark, “Good boy,” though perfectly harmless, had somehow given the negotiations a strange new flavor. What was he supposed to call the man afterward?
Watie and Big Brother Jiang both stared blankly at the black dagger. Clearly, neither of them had expected anything so bizarre to happen. The metal they had praised to the heavens had been damaged by nothing more than a light cut from the dagger.
The middle-aged man gave Zou Chuan a deep look, then turned and strode out of the cave. Judging by the direction he took, he had evidently left some marks when entering. He was an exceptionally careful man.
“Strength?” Hearing Han Jun say that, Lu gave a bitter laugh. “Then tell me—what strength do we have? You drove all the technicians away. Do you really think we can figure everything out on our own here in the country? This is only going to cause trouble!”
Han Jun had no idea that Lu was completely ungrateful.
“I’ve decided to endure it for a little while, if only for Weiwei’s sake.” Zheng Haofei gave a disdainful smile, though there was also a hint of self-mockery in it.
Lin Anqi was Liu Cheng’s latest obsession. Ever since that day a year ago, when Shao Shen and Lin Anqi had been encountered by Jing Yi and Liu Cheng in the shopping mall, Liu Cheng had become captivated by her.
Before she could dodge, the man had already seized her lips. He bit her roughly, his masculine scent invading her little by little.
Although he was still displeased by her lateness, Xibai could nevertheless see the look of approval in Frank’s eyes.
I set down the box and fumbled out the somewhat rusty key. But before I could turn the lock, someone pushed the door open from inside.
Even so, Gao Fang had lost a great deal of blood, and her breathing was faint. She looked determined to die, refusing to let Xiao Yan come near her, much less allow Xiao Yan to bandage her wounds.
In the chilly weather, Qi Anluo worked herself into a sweat. It was not until she entered the elevator that she finally breathed a sigh of relief. After carrying the dishes to the door in several trips, she had only just taken out her key when the door opened from inside.
“Master Song, get this straight. I didn’t come here to gather intelligence for you.” Di Xiu was growing dissatisfied. His voice turned cold, and his aura began pressing toward Song Shengshan.
Gu Fei looked at him, frail as though he were on the verge of death, and clicked his tongue in wonder. It seemed that Mo Tong’s finest performance of his entire life had been spent on this.
