Chapter Eight: I'll Keep Delivering Your Takeout—I Have No Regrets!
The person who arrived was none other than Zhang Fan.
Upon seeing Zhang Fan’s face, Liu Yan was shocked and bewildered, covering her mouth in disbelief. "How were you able to find this place?"
Zhang Fan ignored her, casting a cold glance at John before turning his attention downward to Zhang Qingyun. The moment the little girl saw her father, she broke down in tears again, running behind him and clutching his legs tightly. With a voice choked by sobs, she poured out her story.
"Daddy, Yun'er doesn't want to go to America, wuwuwu."
"Our China is the best, best country in the whole world."
"Yun'er hates America, hates Mommy, and hates that bad uncle, wuwuwu..."
Zhang Fan shoved John aside. Having made a habit of exercising since childhood and maintaining a nutritious diet while working at construction sites, he possessed a lean but muscular frame. John was sent staggering backward as if struck by a vehicle, collapsing onto the ground.
Liu Yan quickly rushed to help John up, pointing at Zhang Fan and berating him. "Zhang Fan, you are so selfish! As an adult, you know perfectly well the gap between our country and America. Letting our daughter receive an education in America and grow up there is the best choice!"
Zhang Fan sneered. Ignoring Liu Yan, he crouched in front of Zhang Qingyun and wiped away her tears. Seeing his daughter’s eyes red and swollen broke his heart. His lips trembled as he struggled to suppress the urge to commit violence.
"My precious, Daddy is here. It’s okay. Daddy will always protect you. No one will ever be able to take you away from me, okay?"
Zhang Qingyun threw herself into his arms. Her soft body felt searing hot, clearly from extreme emotional distress. He gently patted her back, then lifted her up and handed her to Zhao Tiezhu.
Zhao Tiezhu, who was also heartbroken, took the girl and glared angrily at Liu Yan and John while whispering words of comfort to her.
Having lost face in front of a woman, John was furious. Seeing Zhang Fan take a stance, he showed no fear, his face reddening as he roared, "Damn Chinese, so you’re the one called Zhang Fan! I didn't come looking for you, yet you come to find me? I'll kill you right now! We have no extradition treaty; even if I kill you, your mother wouldn't be able to do anything to me!"
Veins pulsed on Zhang Fan’s forehead as his muscles tensed. He glanced at the middle-aged professor who had been protecting his daughter; seeing the injuries on the man’s face made his expression even more menacing.
"Did he do this to you?"
Xu Jincan was worried. "Brother, don't be impulsive! Your daughter was resisting going abroad, so I bought you some time. Now that you have her, that’s a good thing. Don't fight—just leave it at that!"
Zhang Fan’s expression turned savage, and he turned to glare at John with a cold, cruel smile. "Leave it at that? China today is not the China of a hundred years ago! Not just any riffraff can come here and defecate on our heads!"
As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeves, revealing well-defined muscles filled with a sense of visceral, violent power. "You hit our people and still have the audacity to act arrogant on our own soil? You piece of garbage!"
John was red with rage. Having studied Mandarin for many years, he understood the insults perfectly—the vilest kind. He charged straight at Zhang Fan.
Zhang Fan delivered a vicious straight punch, landing squarely on John's chin. *Crack!* His jaw was instantly dislocated, hanging loosely until he had to use his hand to push it back into place. Refusing to admit defeat, John tried to strike back, but Zhang Fan grabbed his head, his leg muscles coiling like a spring before launching upward. His knee slammed into John's chin with terrifying force, snapping the jaw back into place but leaving his face a mangled, bloody mess.
John spat out blood, his eyes clouding over as he collapsed to the floor. *Thud!* He couldn't get back up, falling unconscious on the spot.
Zhang Fan stepped heavily on his head with his sneaker. "Next time you come to our China, think carefully before you raise a hand! Any Chinese man can beat you until you’re leaking from both ends! Damn you!"
John was jolted awake but remained limp, staring at Zhang Fan with hateful eyes.
"What are you looking at, you piece of trash?"
Seeing Zhang Fan ready to strike again, a panicked Liu Yan rushed over and pushed him away. "Zhang Fan, get out of here! How could you hit him? He’s an American! Aren't you afraid of causing an international incident?"
Zhang Fan straightened his collar and sneered. "To hell with your incident. Liu Yan, I’ve traveled to two-thirds of the countries in the world as a high-level executive. None of them compare to China, not even your so-called heaven, America. From today on, you will never see my daughter again! And as for what you just said, take it as my final warning—the thirteen years of our marriage end right here. When you regret this, don't come bothering me! Do you understand?"
Liu Yan was fuming. It seemed there was no way to sell her daughter now. She had thought she could take the girl to America and fetch a high price. Who would have thought this guy would actually break through to save her? Damn it!
She hurriedly ordered a flight attendant to tend to John. Before leaving, she glared at Zhang Fan through gritted teeth. "Don't you worry! I can live very well in America. Once I'm there, I'll be a person of status. You just stay here in the country and keep delivering your takeout! You'll be nothing but a low-life delivery boy for the rest of your life! Me, regret? You'll be the one regretting this!"
Zhang Fan made a move to strike, and Liu Yan, terrified, fled in a panic.
After they left, the other Chinese passengers gave Zhang Fan a thumbs-up. Though only a few people were present, the applause sounded like thunder.
"Brother, well fought!" Xu Jincan grabbed Zhang Fan’s arm, clearly moved. "You’re incredible! Truly incredible! Damn, these Americans think China is still the same as it was before? They need to learn who’s really in charge in this world!"
Zhang Fan nodded with a smile. "You're right. Brother, let's exchange contact information. If it weren't for you today, I don't know what would have happened to my daughter. When you return to the country, I'll treat you to a drink!"
Friendship between men is simple. Having fought side-by-side... they exchanged details.
Zhang Fan, holding a now calmer Zhang Qingyun, disembarked with Zhao Tiezhu. Before leaving, Zhao Tiezhu spoke with the airport staff before returning to the vehicle.
"What happened?"
"Nothing, brother. I identified myself and left my contact details in case they have any follow-up questions."
"Thank you for everything these past two days. I'll treat you to a meal soon."
"Brother, don't say that; it hurts my feelings. Why thank me? Besides, watching you beat that idiot up was so satisfying!"
Zhang Fan laughed, then noticed Zhang Qingyun looking at him with adoration. The little girl was waving her tiny fists in the air, a childish display that made him chuckle, though his expression soon darkened.
"You let her watch? You didn't cover her eyes?"
Zhao Tiezhu scratched his head in a panic. "Uh, she wouldn't let me. Every time I tried, she bit my hand. Look, there are teeth marks."
Zhang Fan was speechless. Zhang Qingyun beamed, waving her fists vigorously. "Daddy is so cool! Daddy is so powerful! With just a few punches and kicks, that bad uncle couldn't get up anymore. Daddy is the strongest man in the world. When I grow up, I want to marry Daddy!"
Zhang Fan said helplessly, "My precious, things that can be solved with your brain should never be solved with force. Violence is bad. And you can't marry Daddy; that’s strictly forbidden in any society." He reached out and pinched her soft, porcelain-like cheeks.
Zhang Qingyun blinked, her eyes innocent and naive. "Why?"
"Because you just can't, that's all."
"Oh, okay then. But when I grow up, I’m going to marry a man just like Daddy! Only a man like that is worthy of me, hehe!"

One day later, Florida Airport.
Liu Yan, supporting John as they stepped off the plane, took a deep breath, her face filled with praise and intoxication. "As expected of America! The air here is so fresh and sweet! Darling, where do you live? Let's go to your place right now; I can continue to tend to your wounds."
John gave her a cryptic look and immediately nodded. "Alright!"
An hour later, as Liu Yan looked at the large villa before her, she danced with excitement, sprinting from the car into the courtyard. But the moment she stepped inside the villa, her face turned pale.
"Darling, your living room... what... what is going on here?!"
