Chapter 19, Section 259: How about... trying out for the Tianlu Youth Training Program?

Su Zhe stared at the post-match screen showing rounds 13 to 16 and couldn’t help but take a deep breath to steady his feelings of defeat. This single game had shown him what true professional-level play looked like—technically, it was a former pro level. Once Danking got into his rhythm, Su Zhe’s aiming became a joke; their kill efficiency was simply on two different planes. Although he had an early lead on the scoreboard, Danking gradually closed the gap under his leadership, and in overtime, his team eventually lost the match.
Glancing at the chat in his live stream, Su Zhe was relieved to find no harsh ridicule as he had feared.
“The streamer really did his best; achieving this after hundreds of hours of gameplay is impressive.”
“Too bad, Danking is just too strong. If the teammates hadn’t been wiped out early in the last round, there was actually a chance to win.”
“Idan has arrived! Everyone clear out! Damn! What an awful stream!”
“Good performance! Maybe there’s real potential to go pro.”
“Hurry and add Iron Egg as a friend! You can ride the wave of traffic!”
Seeing these messages, “Senpo” and “NIko” also realized the situation and quickly urged “Zaiwu” to add Danking as a friend.
Su Zhe hesitated, “Why would I add him? We don’t even know each other…”
The burly, strong Fat Brother snatched the mouse from Su Zhe’s hand. “Oh, you don’t understand!” he said, then clicked on the settlement panel to add the friend request for the ID “Great Sage Equal to Heaven.”
...
Danking, noticing the flood of messages in his own stream praising this “Number One Breakthrough Player at the Edge of the World,” grew curious and searched for him. After digging into the background, he commented:
“Not bad, this young guy! From C+ to S rank in just over a month, and judging by the division, he’s almost at Golden S. Honestly, he plays well.”
Danking’s assessment was fair. Although he thought Su Zhe’s fundamentals still needed improvement beyond his quick reactions, the rapid progress in such a short time was noteworthy.
“Oh, this guy even sent me a friend request first.” Danking smiled as he accepted it from his perfect list of pending requests.
With high emotional intelligence, he was the first to type, “Brother, you played well! I almost lost!”
Su Zhe, still feeling a bit down from the loss, replied simply, “Not really. I’m nowhere near your level.”

Danking found this blunt reply amusing. Of course Su Zhe was far behind him—they were not comparable at all. After all, Danking had been a main sniper for Tianlu five or six months ago and had over ten thousand hours of gameplay. The gap was clear.
He replied, “I heard you want to go pro?”
“Yes.”
Upon receiving the confirmation, Danking immediately grabbed his phone and searched for a moment. Then, facing the microphone in his stream, he said:
“Hey? k4Mi? Are you still recruiting at the youth training camp? I have a talent here you might want to check out.”
“Have you heard of the ID ‘Number One Breakthrough Player at the Edge of the World’? Yeah? You got friend requested and then blocked him?”
Danking was originally just trying to create some entertainment for the stream. Recommending someone casually was no big deal.
But the real show came when it turned out the other side had already noticed Su Zhe, only to block him!
To prove it was true, he showed the call screen to the viewers.
Then he typed in the friend list chat: “Brother, have you blocked anyone recently in the game…”
Su Zhe thought for a moment and pulled up his blacklist on the Perfect Platform.
Fans in Su Zhe’s stream burst out laughing—the list included none other than Tianlu’s coach K4Mi.
Also listed was the well-known domestic pro player: Tianlu’s legendary commander 259…
“Hahaha, is this on purpose for show?”
“Trying to knock on the door but getting slammed shut.”
“Dude, how can you block the Tianlu coach and 259?”
“This guy’s a born live streaming prodigy! My advice, don’t go pro, just stick to streaming.”
“Yeah! Why did you block them?”
Fat Brother was curious and asked.
Su Zhe scratched his head and explained, “You said the other day that people who add you saying they’re from teams are all scammers. A couple of days ago someone added me claiming to be Tianlu’s coach, so I blocked him.”
“Then shortly after, another person added me saying he was Tianlu’s captain, so I blocked him too…”
He had completely misunderstood Leon Kai’s point—he thought only those with Diamond S rank and qualifying stats could get into the youth training camp.
He never expected that after gaining a bit of online fame, they had already been following him for some time.

After all, many knew that he had suddenly awakened to a new level and had ambitions to go pro.
When Su Zhe blocked them, he simply thought, “I’m not even Golden S yet, so why would they reach out to me?” It was a complete misunderstanding.
...
Tianlu eSports Club.
Almost all the young players in the team would open Danking’s stream during their downtime.
On one hand, he was a recently “retired” senior player; on the other, his streams were highly entertaining.
Since training pressure was intense, naturally they sought amusement in their free time, and watching Danking’s stream became their main source of entertainment.
Kaze laughed heartily while watching and called over to 259, who was reviewing demos beside him:
“Captain! Did you really get friend requested by someone on Perfect Platform and then blocked them a few days ago?”
259 frowned thoughtfully, then smiled and said, “Yeah, it was the afternoon before yesterday. K4Mi said he was blocked and asked me to add the guy to see what was going on. But as soon as I added him and said a word, I got blocked too.”
Kaze couldn’t hold it anymore and burst out laughing, clutching his stomach. After two minutes, he calmed down and told 259 what he had seen in the stream chat:
“Hahaha, this is hilarious. They thought you two were some kind of scammers who hoard inventory, unwilling to part with your hundred-dollar skins. But they’ve already unblocked you guys now, so you can reach out.”
259, hearing the reason, was speechless. Though he didn’t look like a nice guy, being mistaken for a scammer was unacceptable—his inventory was worth enough to buy a house in a Tier-3 or 4 city.
He waved off the suggestion, “Let K4Mi ask himself tomorrow. It’s his problem anyway.”
“Oh, it’s just one sentence! It’ll only take a few minutes,” Kaze urged.
While he pretended to be concerned about the team’s youth training talent, he really just wanted to see the streaming drama unfold.
Unable to resist the pressure, 259 opened the Perfect Platform and quickly typed a message:
“Little brother, if you’re interested in our team... you’re welcome to try out for the youth training camp...”
