Bing frowned, wanting to rush forward, but Wang Zheng stopped her. She looked at him in confusion, her head full of question marks, and could not help wondering whether this was still the same man who had helped Lin Xiaolei through her hard days not long ago.

On the screen, Liu Jin continued his lewd grinning and shameless advances, while Lin Xiaolei still struggled weakly in a manner that seemed almost flirtatious. Her hazy eyes, flushed cheeks, and slightly disheveled hair made her all the more alluring.

Bing saw that Wang Zheng remained as leisurely as ever, with not the slightest trace of tension or worry on his face. In her eyes, he had gone in an instant from a kind man who had bought a car to a heartless one. It was one thing not to be worried or nervous, but he was actually watching the screen with such interest... Bing was so angry she did not know what to do. She glared fiercely at Wang Zheng and said with irritation, "I am never again going to care about your business!"

After saying that, she turned her head away, acting as though she would no longer speak to him.

"I never told you to mind my business in the first place," Wang Zheng said indifferently.

Hearing this only made Bing even angrier. She had originally wanted to wash her hands of everything, but the sounds coming incessantly from the television would not let her heart settle. Not to mention Lin Xiaolei; even if it had been some other stranger, Bing would have stepped in to stop it upon seeing such a scene. Yet the man behind her...

Just as Bing was about to burst from holding all that anger inside, the situation on the television suddenly changed. Liu Jin stopped taking verbal and physical liberties with Lin Xiaolei and instead supported her by the body and led her out of the private room. For a man of his age to have to support someone so drunk and heavy, it was truly an ordeal.

Once they left the private room, they also left the range of the surveillance camera, and the screen returned to an empty room.

"Where is he taking Lin Xiaolei? Not to another room...!" Although she had repeatedly told herself not to interfere in Lin Xiaolei and Wang Zheng's affairs anymore, she still could not help asking after seeing this.

"What, do you want to go along too?" Wang Zheng asked with a smile.

"You... How can you still laugh? You heartless bastard, I have you all figured out now." Seeing Wang Zheng's hateful expression, Bing burst out angrily, "You are a despicable person. I finally understand why you always said you wanted to be a spectator. If Lin Xiaolei does not do as you say, then you want to witness her failure with your own eyes. Even if she is defiled by someone else, you will still treat it like a movie, and then in the end come forward with your false pity to feel sorry for her. Am I right?"

"Heh. Those are your words. How would I know whether they are right or not?" Wang Zheng still wore that same smile, unchanged in the slightest. The more he smiled, the angrier Bing became, until she wanted to use her long nails to claw at his hateful face. But being cursed like that, no one would feel good. Wang Zheng opened his eyes, which had been narrowed to slits, a little wider and looked at Bing, whose face was already flushed with fury as she cursed him, and said, "Who was it that stood at the gate of Eternal Peace Tower and said that as long as I bought a car, she would not be fierce with me anymore, and would willingly serve as my advance guard and driver, taking me wherever I pointed, even if there were a cliff ahead, without the slightest complaint?"

"You...!" Bing turned and glared at Wang Zheng. Humiliated and enraged, she suddenly flung open the car door and shouted, "So what if I said it? If you are such a rotten man, someone who enjoys watching women make fools of themselves, then I might as well not drive this car! Hmph!"

With a bang, the door slammed shut.

Not much of a person, but quite the temper, Wang Zheng thought.

At that moment, at the entrance of the nightclub, Lin Xiaolei came out from inside with the support of two female attendants. Liu Jin had already started his car and parked it nearby, then directed the attendants to help Lin Xiaolei into the back seat. In the end, he even generously pulled out a few bills to tip the two attendants.

The car started and slowly left the parking lot in front of the nightclub, entering the driveway.

With a click, the door of the Italian sports car opened from the outside. Bing, her face red, got back in. Whether it was anger or shame that had reddened her cheeks, no one could tell.

"Why have you come back up again?" Wang Zheng asked curiously. In truth, he had long since known the answer, or rather, all of this had been within his expectations.

"I... let me borrow it. I will pay you after I use it!" Bing's face turned even redder, almost matching the drunken Lin Xiaolei.

The answer was already obvious: her face was flushed with embarrassment.

But Wang Zheng had no intention of letting her off so easily. Instead, he continued pretending not to understand. "If you have money, why not buy a car of your own?"

"Wang Zheng, do you ever stop?" Bing was so mortified that she wanted nothing more than to crawl into a hole in the ground, and in that moment she hated Wang Zheng to the core. Seeing the car ahead moving farther and farther away, Bing immediately started the engine, shifted gears, and pressed the accelerator to chase after it.

Wang Zheng kept his usual smile, switched off the in-car television and put it away, then let his gaze rest on Bing, who was driving. In his eyes, Bing was a good woman, righteous by nature, only far too quick to act on impulse. Or perhaps... Wang Zheng was simply too calm.

Whether it was because Liu Jin was too eager or for some other reason, the car had gone only a few minutes before it stopped outside a four-star hotel. The doorman warmly came forward to open the door and offer greetings; by the look of it, Liu Jin should have been a regular here.

Supported by Liu Jin, Lin Xiaolei got out of the car. Just then, a ringing sound came from her handbag, causing the drowsy, dazed Lin Xiaolei to stir slightly. Perhaps the cooler outdoor night air had helped; she looked somewhat better now than she had inside the nightclub.

"My... my phone," Lin Xiaolei said weakly. She had barely reached into her handbag before Liu Jin snatched the chance first.

"I'll get it for you!" Saying that, Liu Jin took her handbag, pulled out the phone, and, without even looking at it, switched it off. Then he put on an innocent face and said to Lin Xiaolei, "The battery is dead."

"Is... is that so?" Lin Xiaolei reached out to take it, but her fingers were limp. After pressing the buttons randomly for a while and seeing that it still would not turn on, she gave up. She put the phone back into her bag, raised her head to look at the hotel before her, then looked at Liu Jin, who was supporting her, and said, "Mr. Liu... thank you for your hospitality. It is late now, and I... I need to go home."

After saying that, she forced herself upright, holding onto the car roof for support, and tried to walk forward step by step.

"Girl, you are drunk. Stay here tonight instead. I have already booked a room for you. Come on." How could the duck that had already been cooked be allowed to fly away? Liu Jin hurriedly supported Lin Xiaolei and stopped her from leaving.

"No... no, I really... really have to go. I... I cannot drink anymore."

"No more drinking. Stay here and sober up first, then go home. I will send you back then, all right?" Seeing that Lin Xiaolei insisted on leaving, Liu Jin certainly could not allow it. He looped her arm around his neck and half-carried, half-supported her toward the hotel. No matter how unwilling Lin Xiaolei was, she now had no strength at all, and her throat burned with pain; the cries she had once been able to shout at full force had become weak moans, while her limbs had no strength left in them whatsoever, not even enough to push or pull.

Watching helplessly as Lin Xiaolei was forcibly led into the hotel, Bing turned anxiously to look at Wang Zheng. Seeing that he still had not moved, she could not help but open the car door again.

"Stop!"

"I didn't hear you!" Bing shouted back, then slammed the door shut and ran toward the hotel.

With a harsh slam of the door, Wang Zheng stepped out of the car. Looking at Bing as she left, he said sternly, "Bing, stop right there!" His voice was sharp and commanding, allowing no disobedience.

Bing froze and turned to look at Wang Zheng. Her fists clenched tightly, her body trembling continuously from the fury in her chest. In her eyes, there was not only anger but also something deeper: disappointment in Wang Zheng.

"Are you really not going to save her?" Bing asked, her voice shaking.

Leaning against the car, Wang Zheng took out a cigarette and put it between his lips. A spark flashed as the lighter ignited, beautiful in its own way. He took a deep drag, then tilted his head back and slowly exhaled a ring of smoke.

"Wait a little longer."

"What are we waiting for? If we wait any longer, it will be too late!" Bing said loudly.

"People must pay for the mistakes they make, and no one can bear that price in her place. It is better for her to experience that feeling herself. She is too pure, pure to the point of foolishness. You have to let her know that this world is not as wonderful as she imagines, and that not everyone is like me, meddling in other people's affairs!" Wang Zheng said calmly. Then he took several more puffs, making Bing, not far away, anxious beyond measure.

When the cigarette had burned halfway down, Wang Zheng lightly flicked the ash. Tiny sparks of fire fell to the ground.

"Go."

Seeing that Wang Zheng had finally spoken, Bing nodded forcefully and turned to run into the hotel.
