As the saying goes, "Like sister, like brother." Since Su Xue was already sitting there asleep, how could Wang Zheng fall behind? Su Xue set a good example for Wang Zheng, so naturally, he had to set one for Bai Bing as well. In no time, he too had fallen asleep.

Meanwhile, Bai Bing wished she could sink into the floor; she kept her head bowed in regret, lamenting her choice to sit next to Wang Zheng. This, she thought, was the gravest error of her life. She’d lost the car, and her dignity as well.

"Brother, wake up! The meeting is over!"

Half-awake, Wang Zheng felt someone shaking him. He opened his dry eyes and looked around. Bai Bing, Su Xue, Chu Jun, Liao Tong, Zhang Qianqian… They were all there. And of course, Chu Zihua.

"What is it?" Wang Zheng asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Brother, the meeting is over, it’s time to leave!" Su Xue looked at him and said, "Brother, how could you fall asleep? We were having a meeting!"

"Huh?" Wang Zheng stared at everyone, bewildered by the complex expressions on their faces. At last, he fixed his gaze on Su Xue and said, "I didn’t mean to sleep, but when I saw you asleep, I followed suit. Otherwise, how would anyone know I’m your brother? Isn’t that what brothers do?"

"I—" Su Xue blushed, recovered swiftly, and replied, "You’re talking nonsense! I wasn’t asleep!"

"So you’re saying… I’m lying?" Wang Zheng looked at Su Xue, thumping his chest. "I, Wang Zheng, never lie to women—you know that! I don’t care about reputation, but this is a matter of principle; I am a man of principles."

Hearing this, Su Xue’s face reddened again. She puffed her cheeks and glared at Wang Zheng, unsure how to respond.

Wang Zheng glanced at Su Xue and her colleagues; was he embarrassing her too much?

"Fine, I surrender! I slept on my own, no one slept with me. Xiao Xue is innocent." Wang Zheng raised his hands as if admitting defeat.

"Stop talking—the more you say, the less innocent it sounds!" Su Xue retorted, but suddenly smiled and pulled Wang Zheng up from his chair. "It’s fine. Sleeping’s not a big deal. Uncle Chu won’t mind, right, Uncle Chu?" She turned to Chu Zihua.

"Of course, of course. It’s not the first time—I’m used to it," Chu Zihua said, smiling.

"Actually, sleeping through a boring summary feels pretty good," Wang Zheng admitted, then realized his comment might be too bold—after all, the summary included Liao Tong and Chu Zihua. So he smiled sheepishly, "Don’t mind me. I just speak plainly."

Damn. It seemed he’d only made it worse…

Wang Zheng straightened his collar and adopted a serious expression. Reaching out, he addressed Chu Zihua, "Let me reintroduce myself: I’m Su Xue’s brother, Wang Zheng. I’ve been in Africa for years and haven’t fulfilled my duty as a brother. I’ve heard the television industry is messy, so thank you for looking after Xiao Xue all this time. I don’t like owing favors; in the future, anything—anything at all—you can come to me, even if it’s about getting that old man out of here. Honestly, I don’t much care for him; at his age… Well, I’ll leave it at that."

His words left everyone stunned, including Chu Zihua, who still didn’t know Wang Zheng’s true identity. He remembered the advice given when Su Xue was introduced by her brother-in-law, and now, seeing Su Xue with a brother, and hearing her confirm it…

"Mr. Wang, you’re too polite. Xiao Xue is talented; her achievements are all due to her own efforts. Besides, she and Chu Chu are good friends—it’s nothing," Chu Zihua replied graciously. As the director of Jinghua Television, such a polite response was rare.

"Haha, I’m never polite," Wang Zheng said with a smile. If previously he looked like an idle drifter, now he seemed transformed.

Confidence! It was as if he was born with it, and it was infectious.

"I won’t disturb your work any longer. By the way, may I take a look around? I promise not to interfere," Wang Zheng asked.

"Go on, stop embarrassing yourself here!" Bai Bing whispered from behind him. Although her voice was quiet, everyone in the meeting room heard her.

Wang Zheng turned and glanced at Bai Bing, who had been hiding behind him. If she hadn’t spoken, he might have forgotten about her.

"Shut up and stand at attention!" Wang Zheng snapped, then turned to the others, embarrassed. "My secretary is inexperienced—please excuse her."

Su Xue and Chu Chu were used to this, living together as they did. But the others found it odd—a drifter with a secretary?

"If you don’t hurry, Lin Xiaolei will ruin the company," Bai Bing continued. By now, she seemed unfazed by embarrassment.

"Are you getting carried away?" Wang Zheng frowned. "Early menopause? Forgot your medicine? Want some Blackbird White Phoenix pills, or Old Lady oral solution? Or should I get you some Brain Gold?"

"I don’t need any of that—you’d better keep it for yourself!"

Everyone froze, watching Wang Zheng and Bai Bing bicker. What were these two up to?

"Well… Mr. Wang, please make yourself at home. I have work to attend to," Chu Zihua excused himself, thinking if he stayed, he’d end up spending the night here.

Su Xue quietly tugged on Chu Chu, Liao Tong, and Zhang Qianqian’s arms and pointed to the door, sneaking out. She couldn’t bear the embarrassment.

Wang Zheng kept pointing at Bai Bing. With the four beauties gone, what was the point of staying? Any good moment would be ruined by this woman.

"I’ve got no interest in fooling around with you here—I’m leaving."

"I told you to leave ages ago, didn’t I? Now you have to listen to me!" Bai Bing chased after him, grinning triumphantly as if she’d won some grand victory.

Wang Zheng ignored her, heading straight to Zhongtian. He was determined to let Bai Bing roast in the sun; even an umbrella wouldn’t help.

Back at Zhongtian Company, everyone was still busy. Wang Zheng’s leisure stood out—he was the number one idler in the company. Bai Bing, as his personal secretary, naturally took second place on Zhongtian’s idle leaderboard.

As he entered the doors, Wang Zheng paused, a barely perceptible smile flickering across his face before moving on. Bai Bing followed, catching sight of that smile. She hesitated; based on past experience, whenever that smile appeared, something was about to happen.

What was he planning? Was he about to confront Lin Xiaolei? Bai Bing trotted after him, eager for the drama.

Smack—Wang Zheng’s shoulder bumped into someone just exiting the general manager’s office. That person stumbled, documents scattering, and if not for the wall, would have fallen face-first.

"What’s wrong with you? Can't you see where you’re going?" the man snapped, voice loud enough for the whole office to hear.

"If I can’t, can you?" Wang Zheng responded, frowning.

"You—how can you be so unreasonable?" the man shouted.

"Unreasonable? Let’s reason, then!" Wang Zheng glared at him. "My motto: You can get away with nonsense, but reason gets you nowhere! Blathering is my specialty, and arguing is second nature." He planted his hands on his hips, stared fiercely, took a deep breath, and began, "You’re walking forward, I’m walking forward, we bump into each other. Why is it reasonable for you to say I don’t watch where I’m going, but unreasonable when I say the same about you? Dressed so smartly—have you ever studied Newton’s third law? The force between two objects is always equal in size, opposite in direction, and acts along the same straight line. It means the force is mutual—appearing and disappearing together…"

For three whole minutes, Wang Zheng spoke without stopping! The other man was dumbfounded, his eyes and mouth askew, limbs limp—only short of foaming at the mouth and fainting.

From afar, Bai Bing unconsciously swallowed. She hadn’t known Wang Zheng had such skill; she’d underestimated him. Henceforth, she’d need to be cautious—he was too formidable.

A torrential rain poured down!
