Early the next morning, before having breakfast, Wang Zheng drove Su Xue and Chu Jun to the TV station, then hurriedly drove to the company.

Wang Zheng tidied his desk and then leaned over it to catch some more sleep.

“Wang Zheng,” Bai Bing called.

“I’m asleep...!” Wang Zheng replied.

“If there’s nothing urgent, I want to go home,” Bai Bing said, looking at Wang Zheng, who was already leaning on the desk. She yawned but forced herself to stay alert.

“Why?” Wang Zheng asked. Strange things happened every year, but this was the first time Bai Bing had voluntarily asked to leave. Had this child suddenly started behaving?

“I... didn’t you ask me to investigate Liao Tong? I want to do that,” Bai Bing answered.

Wang Zheng raised his head, suspiciously eyeing Bai Bing, who stammered. Her expression made it hard to believe her words. At first, she could meet his gaze, but soon grew increasingly guilty and her eyes wandered, eventually unable to meet his, fixed instead on the floor.

“Who wants to watch with you? Not everyone’s as creepy as you!” Bai Bing snapped. “I’m too tired. I want to go home and sleep; I can’t sleep here!”

“No place? It’s just sleeping. How could there be no place? Come, come,” Wang Zheng beckoned to Bai Bing across from him. She was stunned, thinking he was going to make room in the boss’s chair for her to sleep, touched. She walked over, but when she reached him, Wang Zheng pointed to his feet and said, “Sleep by my feet...!”

“Get lost! Do you take me for a pet?” Bai Bing shouted, grabbing the car keys Wang Zheng had tossed on the desk and storming out.

Wang Zheng rubbed his eyes. He had no time to argue with Bai Bing now; sleeping was the better choice.

Lin Xiaolei had lost count of how many times she had knocked on the door. She knew countless eyes were watching her from behind.

A general manager must knock before entering the assistant’s office. If no one answers, you don’t just push the door open to see—yet she chose to keep knocking instead. Was this general manager losing face? Was the assistant’s attitude too arrogant?
